Is there no paradox if Bari wants laws enforced and the rule of law to prevail but is speaking to a right-wing organization that will fervently support our first American dictator? The Federalists have already given him and us a Supreme Court to give our Dear Leader whatever he needs, right?
I say this with a great amount of contemplation and reflection: this is the greatest speech of my lifetime. Thank you, Beri Weiss for your courage and intellect and humor and for giving things a name and helping me find the words.
“ It seeks to upend the very ideas of right and wrong.
It replaces basic ideas of good and evil with a new rubric: the powerless (good) and the powerful (bad). It replaced lots of things. Color blindness with race obsession. Ideas with identity. Debate with denunciation. Persuasion with public shaming. The rule of law with the fury of the mob.
People were to be given authority in this new order not in recognition of their gifts, hard work, accomplishments, or contributions to society, but in inverse proportion to the disadvantages their group had suffered, as defined by radical ideologues.”
Bravo! I hope your voice is heard loud and clear to all! I hope enough of us will speak up, act up and stand up for true fairness in our society, not simply pay lip service to it.
It’s wonderful to revisit this speech today…
Inspiring talk! I am a paid member- have been for a long time!
Heard you speak on Honestly today. thank you for your bravery on speaking out the truth. We will not let them win.
Excellent article. So glad you wrote it, printed it, and I read it. Bari Weiss, too, is one who is not afraid.

Powerful commentary. I share the sentiments contained in this article. Academia is failing in its mission to educate.
Brilliant!! Thank you for your bravery and eloquence in dark and frightening times.

So true

It’s time to address the left wing agenda of national public radio. They have use of the public’s airwaves without any accountability to anyone.
