Follow the Science: Are the terms "innumerable lives" and "untold numbers of people" scientific? They sound like hearsay to me. And, as others have said (below), are the TV ads with hundreds of words describing numerous severe side effects required, or are they just attorney suggestions to reduce the number of law suits filed? How much protection do the laws regarding waivers for Pfizer and Moderna provide against liabilities for wrongful death by mRNA injections?

Although I completely agree with David I feel he is “whistling in the dark”. Liberals and their media sycophants have become totally deaf to any arguments, no matter how factual. “Science” has abandoned scientific orthodoxy for progressive politics. It feels that mainstream America is totally helpless. I appreciate Bari because she is not afraid to take on the more difficult issues. David, “keep on keep’n on” and Bari continue to be the light. Soon only God will save us.

Does anyone know?: If my son was fine after his 2nd dose, how does getting through 2 doses of Pfizer affect his chances of myopericarditis in a third dose? The school district and county board of health are trying to mandate boosters, but I can't find this rather specific statistic!

Better question is why are children being vaccinated at all. The fact that Pfizer is pushing FDA for authorization to fax children under 5 should alarm anyone with any common sense or any understanding of relative risk, health, vaccines, and virology. Bourla, instead of being awarded the Jewish Nobel, should be prosecuted.

Oh, dear, it appears that I was wrong and you were right, Clan Bari. When we were told to "bend the curve to keep the hospitals from being overrun," government was referring to pre-vaccine mitigations measures: lockdowns, closures, social distancing, masking, virtual schools and work. I said vaccines were never touted as a cure, only a means of "bending the curve," and I was mistaken. I'm happy to correct myself here, and thanks to all of you who graciously offered links to legitimate news stories and documentation to show me what was actually said by whom. Yes, both Science and politicians insisted that if you got vaccinated you wouldn't get Covid, and that turned out not to be the case.

I'm happy to be vaxxed and boosted because I believe it kept me from getting sicker than I did when I contracted Omicron early this month. But nobody should be forced by law to get the vaccine. Since the vaccine doesn't keep you from getting or spreading Covid, the only harm of not getting vaxxed is to yourself, not the public. In a free society, we judge our risks for ourselves if it doesn't harm anyone else.

A pleasure conversing with all y'all on this, and a fine reminder to myself that the more certain I am of anything the more likely I am to be wrong.

The comment about FoxNews in the intro was kind of a cheap shot. Most of the opinion show hosts support vaccines but oppose mandates. The news show hosts don’t seem to share an opinion. The comment looks like an appeal to a left-leaning reader who is inclined to distrust a piece that refutes the party line.

I really appreciate your work and have subscribed to several Substack authors of whom I have learned through you. Elaine Dewar’s book about the origin of COVID is an exemplar of quality, courageous journalism.

If I’m wrong about the editorial position of FoxNews I’m happy to be corrected.

Thanks.

The chaotic, contradictory and often unscientific COVID policies promulgated by the CDC and the FDA are nothing less than a national embarrassment. Are our public health leaders an incompetent exception to overall federal government administration, or are they more emblematic of a widespread failure of key federal agencies (think infrastructure, border security, Afghanistan withdrawal, homelessness, urban crime) to execute their duties with competence, professionalism and mindfulness of whom they serve?

Does anyone else wonder about the effect of vaccine mandates on recruitment for the US armed forces, given that the target age of their recruits is the same age range with this negligible risk-reward ratio?

One more comment regarding the zero evidence of death or harm from the vaccines. I just had a conversation with an engineer who knew a nurse that put off getting the shot until her job was threatened. 2 days after the shot she has a stroke, 4 days later she dies. A young woman he knows who was 9 months pregnant gets the shot. Next day her uterus ruptures and the kid dies. Please don't ever tell me these shots are safe and there is no evidence to the contrary. You just have to do a little research to learn otherwise.

“According to several experts, the only other booster data for teens is from a Pfizer trial that included just 78 16 and 17-year-olds. And even that small sample yielded a case of myocarditis in a male.”

This is incredible if it is accurate. Unfortunately, the link in the article doesn’t obviously reference the trial.

We are boosting kids for the same reason that we don't treat acquired immunity the same as vaccine immunity and for the same reason that we require masks inconsistently and senselessly:

Because this isn't about health outcomes; it's about identifying and disenfranchising the noncompliant.

I find it interesting that the left excoriated the Trump administration claiming they put pressure on the CDC thereby “politicizing the science.” It would appear the Biden administration has developed a much more active (and potentially dangerous) pressure campaign on the CDC and other health agencies.

Kinda seems like an affordable, effective alternative is not quite the goal.

Unfortunately many of these comments are directly ignoring the fact that hundreds of millions of doses of these vaccines have been given and studies done on the impact of the vaccines at preventing the serious consequences of this disease. But equally unfortunate is the deliberate obfuscation by authorities at releasing what we know about adverse effects suffered by them. Shamefully, no mainstream news media have done any serious stories on that second item nor have they turned stories looking at all the data we have to produce serious stories. Instead, "journalists" are content with their laziness and spew what they are told to spew. Is it any wonder that people don't trust "journalists"??

One thing that is not addressed is that Denmark, a country that insists on aspirating the vaccine (pulling back briefly on the syringe to make sure it has not hit a blood vessel. An unlikely event but still one that should be avoided and can be by aspirating) has a much lower rate of myocarditis than similar countries. Aspiration might prevent some of these cases. But most countries won't change the protocol because it would open them up to lawsuits. I say those affected with myocarditis should start suing now. Aspiration should be the standard as it was for years with most vaccines.

BTW, I am vaccinated but I would like to go to someone in the future trained in aspirating the vaccine.

Zero evidence of harm? Over 1 million adverse reactions in VAERS with over 22K deaths - the vast majority of which have occurred in the first 3 days with nearly half day 1? 6 peer reviewed studies showing that 1 in 2,000 to 1 in 3,000 adolescent males will develop myocarditis if “up to date in their shots” - exponentially higher than the rate from natural infection (something the shots don’t prevent anyway).

Bari - if you are going to make claims, try backing them up with actual evidence. That’s what those making the assertion of harm are doing - posting the evidence with references to sources (most often government reported raw data from around the world).

You’re inability to EVER admit you were wrong, even on things you were probably wrong about, is crushing your credibility.
