No mention of the Ukraine war and the recent move to automatically register young people, including perhaps women, for a possible draft. The unstable situation in the Ukraine could potentially escalate in a disastrous fashion. I feel Trump would certainly be more of a negotiator and thus the less dangerous candidate.

….Stable in the sense Trump allows Russia to make slaves of a good part of the Ukrainian people again? That would only serve to help to recreate the USSR, in form, if not in name. I hope we all get that China and Russia are working to bring us down and that our allies (like their’s for them) are a vital foothold for our security.

I certainly don’t trust Biden (ahem.. I mean Dr. Jill and Hunter) to side with Israel in defeating terrorism. Since its inception Hamas has been dedicated to death and destruction of a key ally, Israel. While Israel has always embraced innovation and economic growth, thus making life good for their people, Hamas has deprived Palestinians of any decent economic opportunities that would benefit them and lift up their children. Hamas wants the Palestinians to be on international welfare; the better to foster hate.

At this point, both choices for president, appear to have an appalling lack of knowledge of history as well as a realistic view of our current circumstances, strengths and vulnerabilities.

Any young couple interested in having children should beware of the Democrat party these days. Elon Musk is moving his companies out of CA over Newsom's policies which mirror Biden's (or whoever runs him) which I hope makes some more people aware:

"Elon Musk Announces SpaceX And X HQs Moving Out Of California With Gender Identity Reporting Law Being ‘The Final Straw’:

https://www.dailywire.com/news/elon-musk-announces-spacex-and-x-hqs-moving-out-of-california-with-gender-identity-reporting-law-being-the-final-straw

"Billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he is moving the headquarters of SpaceX and X, formerly Twitter, out of California to Texas, indicating that he was pushed to the decision after California’s Democrat governor, Gavin Newson, signed gender identity reporting legislation into law on Monday.

“This is the final straw,” he said in a post to X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.” He added in a second post, “I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”

With yet another post, Musk said X’s headquarters, currently located in San Francisco, would be moved to Austin. “Have had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building,” he added."...

"Musk made his announcement in response to a post from tech investor Jason Calacanis, who asked, “So the state is the parent in California now @GavinNewsom?” Calacanis, in turn, was reacting to a post from the popular Libs of TikTok account run by Chaya Raichik.

“Gavin Newsom signed AB1955 today which bans schools from making rules requiring parental notification if a child identifies as transgender,” Libs of TikTok said. “Get your kids out of public schools.”

As reported by The Daily Wire, the legislation Newsom signed made his state the first in the nation to ban school districts from alerting parents of their children’s sexuality, or if they use pronouns or have adopted gender identities that conflict with those on their school records.

“A lot of families and companies will move out of California because of this law,” Musk said in a different post to X. “Who would want to risk the state taking away their kids?”"

Ok, after this part I shifted to skim reading the rest:

"His administration has reshaped Title IX law to protect students with alternative gender identities, forgiven $167 billion in student debt, and made combating climate change a priority—all moves that were expected to excite the youth vote."

Changing Title IX does not "protect" anyone. People are fighting back but it is hard to find good information outside of the Woke media.

"“It made me feel like I can trust him, and he’s going to stand up for this country,” Miller says of Trump. “I don’t think there’s very many people in this country that after they get shot, one inch from their brain, would be able to get up and essentially tell the country to fight—and I think that’s what he was mouthing while he had his fist up. And I was like, ‘Okay, I’m ready to fight for what I believe in. For what’s right.’ ”"

It is good to know that young people care about America.

And, I haven't been hearing about how masculinity is "toxic" in connection to the iconic photo.

..."Biden has little control over the price of gas..." - Oh, yes he does. Policy matters, you can discourage oil production, pipeline building, and the like, and the prices of anything oil-based will go up.

Expand full comment

Biden has done everything possible to make it hard for US oil and gas companies to energy products that drive America prosperity. So yeah, Biden deserves blame for high gas prices.

Just watch what Trump does the day he gets into office. Gas will start dropping very quickly.

“I was like, ‘This is terrible. I’m working so that I can pay for gas to get to school and to get to work so that I can make more money to pay for gas,’ ” says Carroll, twisting her side ponytail. “And then I thought, ‘Oh, this is because of Biden.’ ”

Yeah, I always go to the 18-year-old cohort for political analysis--someone who "was around 12 years old" when Trump was president--11 to 15, in fact. “I feel like I could’ve afforded a future,” she says about life under Trump. “But now I’m shit out of luck.”

This is among the dumbest, most meaningless, shallowest--did I say "dumbest"?--most amateurish stories I've ever read in 50 years of reading the news. Are there no editors at The Free Press who could've helped this kid figure out how to report and write an article?

And by the way, there are 43 million people--about 12% of the US population if you want to low-ball it by including babies and children--with student debt, totaling about $1.6 TRILLION. Does 18-year-old Tatem think her financial posture would be better if those people defaulted on their loans? Does she know who sets rates on fed student loans, what those rates are and who literally profits from it?

I suspect Tatem, a Christian like her boyfriend, would be more than happy for the gov to pay for parochial schooling.

The writer and the people she quotes, including the brainiac who was going to vote for RFK Jr. but now thinks Trump is smarter, are like those who objected to Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, all of which you'd now have to pry out of their cold, dead brains.

Olivia- You are better than this line- "While most economists admit Biden has little control over the price of gas, voters are still prepared to punish him for it. "

Anyone who deals with or who has dealt with institutional money and finance knows the #1 influencer of intermediate and longer-term oil prices is the United States. We were a net exporter of oil and gas under Trump. Today we are not. Supply and Deman... not what Krugman says, but real economics.

Actually, the oil companies have managed to get the US back to No 1 in oil production DESPITE Biden's attempts to destroy them. The so-called Inflation Reduction Act is merely a give-away to Dem funders in the green energy business. And recall that Biden drained about one-third of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to TRY TO REDUCE PRICES! And he stoked the war on Israel by handing Iran $6 billion and trying to re-start the deal with them. He is an idiot.

The petrol price in my country (SE) depends on who rules, if the left decides, it does so with the help of the environmental party. They hate motorists, nuclear power and claim that Russian gas is environmentally friendly.

Even so, they exaggerate EU mandates so that we are forced to run on fuels with a large, expensive mixture of biofuels, (although we don't even have to.)

The price of electricity rose when they shut down several nuclear power plants and tried to replace them with wind power. Fuel prices likewise due to political decisions.

Inflation ran rampant, just like interest rates.. Many were surprised, angry and disappointed. But what did they think would happen?

In the last election, the Right side won with the support of the conservatives and we embarked on a different path with 25% lower fuel prices and a plan to start up new nuclear power plants!

God, I hope we continue on that path

That path also addresses ALL the other problems the left has created, with unlimited immigration of people (cattle who vote for the left) from the middle east and Africa. The Church of Sweden has largely converted to Islam and been deeply infiltrated by the mutated left, just like all important authorities and media.

No one wants to be a police officer in this country anymore, previously a 7 on a nine-point scale was required to become a police officer, fairly tough requirements. Now it only takes a 5th and the authorities love to feel good and quota people they know nothing about just because they have the right skin color or diagnosis.

They can have guns, but we decent citizens can't

Reminds me of when I was first able to vote in the 1984 election. I had experienced the gas shortages, hostage crisis and many other President Carter-related issues. Saw how Reagan turned things around and realized I agreed with most of what he did and have never looked back. I feel like, while Trump is no Reagan in terms of his personality, there is a group of young people who experienced the way things were a few years back and the way things are and connected the dots. The one big difference today is the ability for the Left to leverage immediate feedback tools like FB, Instagram, TikTok, etc. to push their narratives. Hopefully this new group of young citizens can see past/through the barrage of painted pictures and false narratives to the truth as they continue their life journey.

What I think we're seeing more broadly is the veil of bullshit the media has been peddling is being lifted. I think the clear media cover up of Biden's mental health has accelerated this....I've seen several stories that mention people doing their own research/investigation into Trump and finding out he's not nearly the monster ("literally Hitler") the MSM has made him out to be.

Our three Zoomers fully understand the proper economics employed by the Trump team and how great everything was four short years ago. Our 26 yr old son makes $85K and cannot afford housing in MN. Trillions of printed dollars have inflated everything with a focus on housing.

There have always been young people who've voted Republican. Just because a handful talked for an interview doesn't mean there's some big surge.
