If you think we need the Democrat Party to go even farther left, he’s the perfect match for the accidental presidential nominee.

This is the first time I can say this, with a heavy sigh: A Free Press article strikes me as DNC propaganda if only by omitting major stories and by using thinly veiled slick rhetoric to support Harris.

DFL is not a Democrat. And that is the elephant in the room.

So, the teaching method by teacher Waltz is let students talk without learning material. What would they base their opinion upon? Why are we surprised that elite universities students do not even know what they are protesting against and what their slogans mean. Thanks to the teachers like Walz

I do not get why the fact that Walz owns no stocks, bonds or real estate is refreshing and adorable. The government told us to save for retirement and not count on Social Security check alone because it would not be enough, especially with SSA trust fund running low. The government passed legislation mandating employers to provide employees with deferred compensation plans, such as 401K and 357, and encouraging workers to contribute. All of a sudden we have to admire someone who has zero retirement savings. Of course, he and his wife have pensions, which is very rare now for middle class, but still. The party in power and its service industry mass media can’t even lie consistently. Instead they are constantly turning around like a weather vane, in the direction that benefits them the most.

Oh, don't worry about Walz. He has a hefty 401(k) held by the First Bank of Beijing.

I suggest some of you go check out @WalterHudson, on X. He is a state representative from a rural area west of Minneapolis. Listen to his speeches at the state capitol fighting the Democratic trifecta that passed the most radical leftist policies in Minnesota history - a sanctuary state for transgender “care”, drag shows at the state capitol, tampons in boys’ bathrooms, abortion up to birth and death to babies who survive a botched abortion. He also spent an $18 billion surplus and increased the state budget by 40%. Walter is articulate about his views. Someone from the FP needs to interview him and some of his cohorts.

The part where we learn that he was one of those teachers who doesn't believe in textbooks, he lost me forever. Forever.

With the pick of Walz, the progressive wing of the Democratic Party has wrested control, just as the MAGA movement has done with the GOP. There will no longer be a place for moderates and centrists like a Shapiro or Kelly on a national ticket, even though they represent two-thirds of the voting constituency.

Walz was called out by a long-time local anchor on air as she was covering the burning of the 3rd precinct police station, breaking the fourth wall and exclaiming "Where is the governor?!" The lack of leadership he displayed during the riots was truly embarrassing and showed he does not have what it takes to handle a crisis.

Or that he wanted the crisis. Not sure which is worse.

We all know guys like Tim Walz, they take roles of stewardship in the public sphere (national guard, govt school teacher, politician) and trade integrity for popularity. To them it feels like a great deal. They look down their noses at the ‘unpopular’ masses who have paid his bills for his whole life. What he doesn’t appreciate is that his approach to stewardship is devastating to his credibility and it is ONLY the regime that has even a fleeting respect for him. It’s not public service (making hard choices to preserve public function), it’s public resources for his popularity.

what is wrong with the free press?

Tim Walz is no moderate, its as if the writers here just cannot let go of the totalitarian, child castrating, covid disaster phonies? You guys really need some self reflection.

My goodness, but Tim Walz sure resembles Dick Cheney

resemble in looks only wake up if you think they have the same beliefs.

I wasn't a Cheney fan but he had more integrity and belief in our freedom and government.

Hope you were just saying it about looks.

Walz sounds like a real nice guy. Too bad, I oppose his politics. I'd like him to be my friend. I just don't want him to be my vice president. (Unlike so many in America, I am perfectly capable of being friends with people I disagree with.)

Let's get something straight. White people is too broad. We are not the same. Minnesota Walz- mostly German immigrants, not folksy to most of us just strange

Vance- the South and parts of the Northwest, Scots-Irish. Completely different cultures. Maybe the feminine men will cheer him because he likes to do fake nice and burns. There will be zero respect for him from the Scots-Irish portions of the country, especially in the South. His stolen valor and putting tampons and what sounds like his soft bigotry of low expectations? No.

Except for Eli Lake, the FP really blew it on their coverage of Walz today. Some Minnesotans love him and some hate him but absolutely no one who follows politics thinks he’s a moderate.
