Besides all of the reasons mentioned, the Democrats lost due to their arrogance.I live in red America and have for the past twenty years although I have lived in two areas which vote blue. When educated elites only live in communities of similar education levels and incomes, they lose touch with the concerns of everyone else. While I am a registered Democrat mainly so I can vote in primary elections, I have really become an independent. The Demoratic party has been hijacked and has sold its traditional base down the river.
