Yes, this is how we suddenly could find ourselves as a people in support of a Hitler-type ruler and we're living in a dangerous time. it's this defending-the-terrorists-as-something-other-than-brutal-murderers mindset/impulse that allows it, as you described so eloquently.
however i think you'll lose people by claiming the only reason for their mindset is that they hate jews. i think: some progressive people simply aren't thinking very hard, and they can't get out of their "oppressors can't be victims" mindset. and, they see israel as an oppressor, because that's popular right now and probably because they have a shallow understanding of history. those people can be awoken by your argument and your article, but not if you call them jew haters. some people do hate jews of course, but there were a lot of people who helped and permitted Hitler, who didn't hate jews.
