Beginning with the reality that I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Valparaiso University and a Master of Divinity from Chandler School of Theology, and have raised my granddaughter to cherish her unique self with her high intelligence, many talents and creatively artistic gifts; for her to attend such a university that offers individual growth beyond degree(s), a fulfilling life beyond classrooms and hope for a future where she will be valued for her strength of character would be a gift in itself. Indeed, I would be honored to become a member of your faculty and contribute to your admirable work to encourage students to reach for the stars, daring to challenge yet reflect before acting. Gaining perspective in emotionally charged settings is vital in today’s world. I survived the first Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, by listening to my inner voice and trusting myself. As a female, I was treated with more respect by the enemy soldiers we cared for in our field hospital than by our own soldiers. There is respect where you are and I respect what you are doing to forward the value of truth and shared thought. I’ll be waiting for an interview for us both. Thank you for what you do and who you are as individuals and as a society reaching beyond.
