Informative article but I find messaging gets muddled, at least for me, by trying to describe voter attitudes using adjectives like "left", "right" or, worst of all, "extreme/far right" which inevitably gets linked to authoritarian socialism. For many, including myself, right implies small government and belief in individual freedom as opposed to big government authoritarianism. Perhaps my definition is more north American as opposed to European. A more apt description of people who oppose rapid demographic changes would be Conservative I think. Certainly the tendency to actively discourage the public from discussing a problem should be described as authoritarian.
