The role of voter has changed, largely due to the influence of social media. It used to be; read the paper, pull the lever. Now voters just don't vote: they are encouraged by the media to live in political pep rally mode for at least two years prior to the election. And how do the candidates keep their names in front and center in the news cycle? Being abnormal!
Life long Dem switched to Independent 6 months ago. It's true. There is nothing normal going on. 51% of people are now Independents? To me that says it all. Over half of the registered voters are done with these 2 parties. They have been captured by extremists. Just looking for some sanity. Is that too much to ask for?
Ah, Loretta Lynch. Last seen illegally briefing Bill Clinton in a private meeting on his airplane about Hillary's email scandal while acting US Attorney General and denying anything other than exchanging pleasantries. Nope, no double standards here. Gotta admire democrats for their commitment to omerta.
The 50/50 split consistently shown in the polls does seems strange. Especially in light of the 63/36 split for Trump on the Polymarket prediction market ($2B+ volume). What explains this? Republicans like to bet more and vote for their team? Partisans with money think there is a benefit to moving the market in favor of Trump? Pollsters don't like money? There is some kind of bias in the polls - e.g., no one wants to say out loud that they're voting for Trump?
I changed my voter registration from Republican to Independent several years ago. I’ve no interest in voting for a Democrat. I work in the DC area and park in one of the Northern VA park & rides. During the Trump/Biden election cycle several of my coworkers had Trump bumper stickers and had their cars keyed by the “Party of Tolerance”. I learned my lesson, no bumper stickers, and registration to independent.
Factual, observant, relevant…Oliver you do a Fantastic job
Let’s make politics boring again.

I’ll also add that the Party of Tolerance seems to be taking marching orders from the Religion of Peace..
