The writer here seems to think that a few nice memes is all that is needed for him to not be seen as a radical neo-socialist. School lunches for children is great, but it has nothing to do with being a leader of the free world. Furthermore, it's not only important what political leaders do, but why and how. Minnesota taxes make New Jersey blush. He took the pandemic relief funds and rather than distributed it broadly, he spent it on progressive causes and then raised taxes again. He has been driving an exodus of business and upper-middle income people while having the lowest job growth in the Midwest and close to the worst in the country. He is forcing the EV transition and "net zero" by 2040, an impossibility especially in the Midwest. And of course there are not small matters like standing by while his cities burned and supporting the rioters, a perfect match for Harris who created a bail fund for them. He is also a good pal with the major Iman in MN who just also happens to yells about genocidal Israel and recommends a documentary praising Hitler that is popular with terrorists (I'm not making this up). Lest I forget, he is also all in on the gender-transitioning of minor children, which most Americans find disgusting.

Whatever he may have been or done before his political career, it is clear he read the MN Somali tea leaves and turned hard-left to get elected and grow power. He is a copy of Harris, in a campaign doing all it can to conceal what these folks are really about. Both are a perfect fit for San Francisco (my hometown) politics, the most Left-wing in the country.

I don't want partisan hit pieces on the FP, from either side. But I expect Bari's crew to get past campaign slogans and do some actual reporting. This piece was depressing because it indicates that people are looking for national feel-good parents, not serious leaders, in an extremely dangerous time. And, because it was a waste of my time.

A not trival number of pieces on The FP have been very lightweight and even immature. That's not what subscribers are here for.

I see lots of free things he's given to his state. So, how are they paying for all this free stuff? On the Federal level it will be either higher taxes or more debt, neither a good thing. Sounds like buying votes again, which is what socialism does.

Joe, your partisan disdain for Trump is clouding your vision, and you have a serious case of Democratic False Equivalency Syndrome. Walz has a terrible track record, and is all to quick to ignore the US constitution when it serves his blatant and mindless Woke ideologies.

Here is my problem - not everything ANY candidate does is all wrong or all correct. The question to be asked is what is the overall record, what missteps, what correct steps. Overall, Walz has not performed admirably. As enumerated by one of the comments here (& thank you to that commenter!):

"As with Trump, there is a lot one has to ignore in order to support this guy. The difference being that his decisions have led to an erosion of prosperity, safety, and major social division. Where Trump lets people keep their hard earned cash, and despite his "weirdness" has support across many different walks of life. It is hard to look past Minnesota's current overly progressive, anti police crime, poverty, DEI, gender insanity etc"

Ok, you're crazy.

If the VP is a heart beat away from the presidency, let me ask you, do you want a president that has no obvious net worth running our trillion dollar economy? People in this country deserve to get specific policy information- as if they won’t pivot anyway if elected. They blame trump for the border bill that was defeated, but let me ask you, what good is legislation if not enforced. Maybe they could have used some of the 80,000 new IRS agents to help at the border.

I will never forgive Walz for allowing parts of Minneapolis burn to the ground and Kamala bailing out the anarchists. I asked, then and now, where was the national guard? I know- he sent them to Iraq.

If you need to understand how Trump should be dealing with his opponents Trump should just listen to VD Hanson - see his latest interview re-launching a 2023 version of his "The case for Trump". It is so simple as to what Trump could do to take out the potentially most lethal left wing presidential team he stands opposite...but as we know Trump is likely to beat himself.

If I want to see puff pieces by an obsequious media about the Harris/Walz campaign I can read the New York Times or the Washington Post (or watch CNN/NBC/CBS/NPR/ABC). I expect better from The Free Press.

Yes, Walz is a radical, so is Harris. The title alone is an insult to anyone who holds decent, bourgeois, Judeo-Christian values. Feisty, funny, maybe, but I saw Walz as creepy. He's also a liar. His military record is farce. He is guilty of "stolen valor." If any of you like him, fine. However, his views, his actions as governor, and his lies make me sick. In this way, he's a perfect running mate for Cacklepuss. They deserve each other, but we don't, and it's because THEY ARE RADICALS. Oh, and Little Joshie was the nominee until either the Jew haters in the party nixed it, or the Napoleon-like Shapiro chose not to throw his bags aboard a potentially sinking ship.

Kamala must be happy that her running mate is getting all the press, good and bad, to take attention away from her own incompetence.

Bari. As the chief honcho here you need to take Joe behind the woodshed and explain that we don’t want a half baked cotton Candy puff piece from the Harris Walz campaign committee. We want him to ask the hard policy questions. Why didn’t he defend the precinct? Why didn’t he call out the Guard? Why does he think we should perform double mastectomies on troubled teen age girls? Why did he lock down the state while flying himself to a holiday gathering? As Mencken said, comfort the afflict the comfortable. Totally pathetic effort. You can do better

“Call me crazy, but I think a lot of voters will find this “progressive,” “extremist,” “socialist” agenda attractive.”

I’m not calling you crazy, I’m calling you fucking delusional.

I noticed you didn’t say anything about the people who lost businesses and property in Minneapolis during the BLM riots. I don’t think they’re going to find that “attractive” either.

What a tool…
