This is such a sad story to read. I'm so sorry for all the trauma and pain you have endured. I wish you the very best of luck as you move through the detransition process.
Your writing is an effective act of kindness that deepens the 'conversation' as it offers relevant facts and personal experiences to those suffering people considering solutions. May you be blessed.
Tiger, I am in awe of the strength you exhibit with your vulnerability. Thanks so much for sharing your story, because it is truth. We cannot heal until we confront truth. I sincerely hope it helps someone - many someones - to also find truth. God bless.
Thank you for sharing your story. I strongly suggest that you use your art as way to help you mentally process, and heal during this time. Art has the power to say what we can't. It has the power to help us face our fears and connect with others. I highly recommend dedicating time and space to create, your body, mind and soul will thank you later.
Seriously. I told my daughter that it was going to be horrible and is one of our burden, as women, to bear. There is a sisterhood she will join and we can all be there to support each other. It is more honest and then she won't wonder why she is "different" if she doesn't experience the "beauty" of having one's period. Then comes my husband to tell her that I am wrong and I should tell her how wonderful it is to have a period and to be a woman. While I agree it is wonderful to be who we are, I almost strangled him.
Recently, one of my kids told me that if I haven’t questioned my gender identity or transitioned, I can’t understand the subject or even recognize the issues. Therefore, I have no right to comment or judge.
My reply is that I’m fully able to recognize abuse and manipulation when I see them, and I’ll judge them for what they are.
My judgment isn’t aimed at “being trans,” but at those who harm vulnerable people by using their traumas and emotional distress as tools for manipulating them — as happened to Roxanne.
Not to mention the abuse of forcing women to compete against men and a list of other abuses.
Unfortunately, a lot of other people are so blinded by their desire to be “inclusive” and accepting, they can’t see this stuff for what it is. So they signal their luxury beliefs across social media, get emotional highs, and refuse to even consider the possibility that something horrific is happening to real people in the real world.
But their blindness is willful and they’re part of the problem. And when the class action lawsuits start to make the news and the victims finally get a spoonful of justice, the celebrity and other advocates will quietly delete their Facebook and X posts and pretend they never said a thing.
Then they’ll find new virtue bubbles.
So yes, I can judge this ideology, because I see it for what it is: abusive.
Roxanne: if you read this, I’m so sorry for what happened to you. Take comfort in the fact that you have a caring family that will help you recover from this, and from the fact that your courage to speak up will help others caught in this horrible trap. You’re helping end this abuse.
It's so tragic. And in CA, public school kids can allow teachers and admin to know of their desired sexual orientation or preferred gender but the school can hide it from the family. (Thank you Governor Newsom for this ridiculous law).
I wonder if people (especially young) were told “just so you know— most people don’t ACTUALLY believe trans identifying people the opposite sex— they’re just ‘being kind’”, fewer would go down the “transition” path.
In fact, that’s the entire purpose of affirmation and compelled speech — if people were encouraged to just be honest and that such honesty was valued, as much as affirmation, how many people would use “preferred pronouns”?
What other medical diagnosis requires the participation of others for effectiveness or outcomes?
I LOVE your comment, TLIVT. We had a daughter ROGD in high school - with no prior history (oh, the kids convince themselves that if they picked up a "wrong" toy once it is meaningful) - and we parents were the "ONLY People" who "had a problem with it". Everyone else thought it was just great and celebrated, with teachers going behind our backs and treating us like dinosaurs. People are extra smug when they are virtue signaling their "kindness and understanding", IMO. One of the better teachers told me that 'even if it doesn't turn out to be "true" (???)' it will make my kid so understanding of people who "are really trans" (What is that and what is the test for it ???).
It has been a haul but she is ok, by the way - and not "medicalized". No one should take advantage with anyone in a bad place or mentally ill, (or young and naive) which is anyone who is led down the path of removing healthy body parts by the schools pretending "gender" is "settled science" or doctors happily chopping for $$$$
But, check out this list of providers with beaming doctors advertising for "affirmation" including "nullification". https://www.transhealthcare.org/usa/ Not to mention Pharma: "U.S. Sex Reassignment Surgery Market Size, Share & Trends Analysis Report By Gender Transition (Male To Female, Female To Male), And Segment Forecasts, 2022 - 2030"
A very poignant story. I would urge Roxanne to postpone breast reconstruction until the full effects of hormones are stabilized and she has lived and enjoyed her detransition and become comfortable with her resurrected self. As a breast cancer survivor, I have seen several partial and full mastectomy patients forego reconstructive surgery - which is never perfect and often not attractive and further ties one to the medical establishment for more years than they wish to spend. (Remember this is the same medical establishment that facilitated/encouraged the original transition.) Focus on accepting yourself, getting on with life and finding fulfillment in friends and family and then if it's still that important, go for the reconstruction. Just don't let the absence of breasts get in the way of being comfortable with yourself.
I also think there is more and more evidence that the implants and the plastic in them cause medical issues. I have a friend who is having her implants removed because she is systemically sick and they can't figure it out except for her implants.
I also wonder if they use bioidentical hormones or synthetic? I am on bioidentical hormone replacement knowing that synthetic hormones have lots of toxic side effects.
Synthetic hormones have always been a drug in search of a market. They've found it ($$$) with "Gender Identity".

Very powerful piece, thank you for bravely sharing your experience. Peace be with you.

We need to stop telling women that having your period is a wonderful part of becoming a women. It can be painful, uncomfortable and debilitating.

Roxxanne, you are quite brave to go public!
The New Yorker ran an article this week: "Has Social Media Fuelled a Teen-Suicide Crisis?"
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/10/07/social-media-mental-health-suicide-crisis-teens
But, of course if you ask "Has Social Media Fuelled a ROGD crisis?" they'll call you a transphobe and a Nazi
Thank you.
I admire your courage. I hope you will find what you're looking for.
Wow, I'm stunned. How brave of you to speak out.
Wishing you the best.
Welcome back, Roxxanne.
Lots of Love, LM
