Very interesting. I see this happening all over the world. It seems that when some (not all) immigrant men, either those who are born in the new country or arrived there with their parents, especially in France, can't find work for whatever issues - skills/language? - in these isolated neighborhood bubbles, they become criminals. I think employment and immigrant neighborhood bubbles need to be addressed ethically. The prevailing forces of the hosting country need to penetrate these neighborhoods based on the values of the hosting country, not the values of the immigrants. Who cares what religion they are, if they are breaking the law they need to be thrown out. It's a disgrace to England to aid and abet criminals for their votes.
I'm a Julie Bindel paid subscriber. I actually read her book. I cancelled my Ali subscription after she upheld the Catholics as our savior solution. Julie for sure is a radical and doesn't even notice how the Barbie movie has changed the imagination of women's community. But for anyone to say that Julie is not informed or worse and after her deep commitment to girls' rights is a horrible slander. She cares more than any of you about the female future being free and powerful. And she works to make that future possible. Thank you free press for bringing her to a million people! I'll renew forever now!
With all due respect to Julie Bindel, feminism is just the other side of the coin with chauvinism. Tommy Robinson is a liar, Elon Musk is despicable, misogyny this and misogyny that. The contempt for men she has even if they help her cause was not too subtle. The point being that we are up against true evil and it is not at all helpful to always view everything through the lenses of sex, race or whatever immutable characteristic we have.
My deep respect and admiration goes to Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Ms. Bindel refuses to engage the particularity of these rape gangs because that ill not lead to the total eradication of all sexual abuse. "Monstrocizing" ( or whatever the word is) the perpetrators diverts the blame from where it truly resides, society or men or something. She certainly is not a conservative.
She differentiates herself from other feminists which includes the BBC, Sky News and the Guardian. Who and where are the Bindel feminists? Also, are there no women or feminists in the ranks or leadership of the UK police system? As for the men, are they now expected to protect women and girls; that's quite a change.
Ayaan is so knowledgeable and honest. I Always enjoying reading or listening to her. Julie on the other hand seems to have an ax to grind and doesn't really want to 'win' on this issue. She seems to rather it continue rather than people like Elon Musk be the ones to bring it to the light of the day. She's known about this for decades and has made zero headway, but now Musk brings it to the forefront and she finds him contemptable. Wow!
I listened with great interest. I am quoting material from two slides for a lecture that I will give next week at Sha’ar HaNegev’s psychology clinic in the Otef. I was struck by the fact that the police would not intervene as I had that experience with Nazir Afzal who who was in charge of the Center for Social Cohesion - the name says it all as Ayaan noted. I did a theory of imagery for the Islamic suicide attack linking domestic violence murder-suicide in the West and honor killing to the underlying visual template of the suicide bomber dying in a “death fusion.” cf. The Banality of Suicide Terrorism. Nazir’s study of geomapping showed that where there were jihadis there was domestic violence and yet he refused to speak to the matter. I wonder if he was involved in the massive and tragic cover-up? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazir_Afzal “If you had a map of the UK showing the location of Islamist groups - or terrorist cells-- and you had another map of honor-based violence and you overlaid them you would find that they were a mirror image; they would be almost identical. It could be that this is simply where the South Asians live - or it could be something else - it could suggest that there is a strong link between these two attitudes.” p.86 quoting Nazir Afzal in Crimes of the Community, Centre for Social Cohesion, James Brandon and Salam Hafez, 2008.
So I wrote to Nazir and this was his reply: “I recognise the links myself but am wary of discussing them further without hard evidence.” email 2008
Nazir Afzal, OBD, British Police, Dir. of Division for Honor Killing
One wonders what more "hard evidence" was needed? I note that the Egyptian sociologist Prof. Halim Barak said – if you have violence in the family, you will have a violent society.
Ayaan (after Julie praises Starmer for getting prosecutions against “groomer rapists”): ”I don’t know when Starmer was Director of Public Prosecutions, but …” Once again Ayaan demonstrates her profound ignorance of the UK (she doesn’t know Boris Johnson was found unfit to be an MP and resigned to avoid losing an election in his seat) where there’ve been numerous enquiries on Child Sexual Exploitation whose recommendations haven’t been implemented and (admittedly thanks to Musk) are now being implemented.
Ayaan also talks about (Muslim) immigration to the UK as if it’s a recent phenomenon. What are now Pakistan and Bangladesh were part of India pre-partition (1948) which was part of the British empire which is why in these countries many people speak English, you drive on the left, cricket is a leading sport and there’s a bureaucracy and legal system modelled on Great Britain. Unsurprisingly, therefore, many doctors in the UK are from India and Pakistan. https://www.specialistdrreg.co.uk/blog/nhs-doctors-from-overseas-statistics/ The opposite of the “out of work recent immigrants” Ayaan refers to, her disingenuous ignorance is mind-boggling!! Full disclosure: I was born and grew up in Sheffield, just next to Rotherham.
“The lies [Tommy Robinson] has told are monstrous” (Julie Bindel). Robinson is in prison for contempt of court, same reason Bannon went to jail in the USA (“Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 18 months after admitting contempt of court by repeating false claims against a Syrian refugee” https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c704eedkqkvo ), i.e. for REPEATING (untrue) slander when court told him he’d go to prison if he repeated the (untrue) slander … hardly a hero!
Is it important to argue over Elon and Robinson (although I would strongly argue for his freedom), or to pressure Starmer and the idiots who just voted to NOT investigate? This is insane.
This is a very annoying discussion. Ayaan talks of fact and substance. Bindel continues to talk like an upper class British aristocrat, that is mildly perturbed that the plebs are suffering. Not just from this one debacle but from so many other policies championed, pursued and protected by the upper social classes in the UK. How can you be more angry at the likes of Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk, because of speech. Rather than the systemic assault of your fellow citizens that has been happening for decades.
Ayaan left for the US. I can see why. At least in the US the working class voter has a chance to voice their disgust at the ruling class and hope for some change. Even if that change agent is not ideal. I would posit had Trump/Elon been in the UK they would be sitting next to Tommy Robinson in a jail cell.
Fair enough, but how about this working class British person pulling a "no true Scotsman" argument?
Those other feminists with their intersectionality and their trans-inclusiveness, those aren't real feminists like me, she keeps saying. Sure they aren't.
Musk and The Free Press are very confused about this issue. Musk is spreading baseless lies. There was no cover up by British authorities. But Bari Weiss is calling this "The biggest cover up in British history". She is a very, very bad journalist.
There was a great deal of cover-up, some by perpetrators in positions of power, some by administrators afraid of being accused of racism. The British media has acknowledged it. Bari is certainly not alone in pointing it out. Even the legacy press in the UK and US has stated this.
UK authorities were slow to respond to the grooming gang scandals due to a combination of institutional failures, fears of being accused of racism, and a lack of prioritization for the vulnerable victims involved. Many of the perpetrators were of South Asian descent, and authorities, including police and social services, were hesitant to investigate or act decisively out of concern that doing so might be seen as targeting minority communities or inciting racial tensions. This reluctance was compounded by a lack of resources, poor inter-agency communication, and a failure to take victims’ accounts seriously, often dismissing them as unreliable or labeling the girls as complicit in their exploitation.
In some cases, attempts to cover up or downplay the situation were evident. Reports and investigations highlighting the abuse were ignored or suppressed, as seen in the Rotherham scandal, where officials reportedly destroyed evidence and discouraged whistleblowers to protect the reputation of their institutions. Political correctness and the fear of public backlash for exposing crimes with racial or cultural dimensions further contributed to delays in action. These failures left victims unprotected for years, allowing abuse to continue unchecked and undermining public trust in the authorities.
Elon's tweets aside, there is some validity in calling this a coverup.
"Reports and investigations highlighting the abuse were ignored or suppressed, as seen in the Rotherham scandal, where officials reportedly destroyed evidence and discouraged whistleblowers to protect the reputation of their institutions."
That is some extraordinarily high quality propaganda by a right-wing publication that is clearly operating out of an agenda. It gives one the sense that the UK officials did nothing in response to these crimes. It does so by quoting anonymous police officers. It completely ignores all the significant efforts by authorities to do something about the problem.
That story was published yesterday. How do you square that reporting with the fact of this report by a major task force from April of 2023? Does it really look like the authorities did nothing?
The first three paragraphs of that report:
In the last 12 months the crack team of expert investigators and analysts has helped police forces arrest over 550 suspects, identify and protect over 4,000 victims, and build up robust cases to get justice for these appalling crimes.
Established by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in April 2023, the Grooming Gangs Taskforce of specialist officers has worked with all 43 police forces in England and Wales to support child sexual exploitation and grooming investigations.
Led by the National Police Chiefs’ Council and supported by the National Crime Agency, the taskforce is a full time, operational police unit funded by the Home Office to improve how the police investigate grooming gangs and identify and protect children from abuse. It is staffed by experienced and qualified officers and data analysts who have long-term, practical on-the-ground experience of undertaking investigations into grooming gangs.
There was a huge investigative report done by The Times of London in 2011. And they made no secret of the fact that it was largely Pakistani men. This has been well covered by the press, and it’s absurd to claim that British authorities did nothing about this issue.
Most absurd of all is to claim that Elon Musk did anything to help fix the problem. He is spreading lies and misinformation, and the right is applauding him for it. It’s absolutely amazing.
They didn't do nothing but what they did was far from enough. And many Britishers disagree with you, as you will see from comments on articles in many newspapers.
Back in the day, we were told that rape was about power, not about sex. And while it seems like the mass rape of teenage girls might have a little to do with sex, the continued rape of European women by migrant men is absolutely about showing the power of the migrants over the host society and hastening the decline and death of those societies. Where are all the men in these societies that protect young women? Were all the manly men killed in the wars? British culture is weak and feckless, as is the culture of the Germans, French, Swedes, and on and on. The migrant men see this and they see that the white women are there to conquer and impregnate and so they are using their power to take over. Starmer, Johnson, Sunik, all the way back to Tony Blair... Weak! And this 'woman of the left' hates Tommy Robinson? Ma'am, Tommy Robinson is in jail for seeking to protect women, and you are not. Show some respect.
It’s not the fault of weak feminists. These are crimes against humanity. Women grew us all inside their bodies!! This is a result of globalists capturing British leaders, somehow, and causing them to order a suspension of laws (immigration as well as sexual assault!), a suspension of policing of those laws, and, well WHAT??? What consequences does Two-Tier Kier and his ilk face? There’s your answer.
It seems the police were warned off by the politicians. This is coupled with the fact that police leadership simply did not care what happened to the victims. This is an example of what happens when a cobra is invited into the tent.
The current political situation may be the last best chance for the UK to redeem itself either as a country, or as a society. It is the immigrant’s duty to conform to and integrate themselves into their new country. That is what makes immigration possible. If the immigrant can’t cope with the customs, social norms and laws of their new country they need to leave, and go somewhere that is more to their liking.
Cowardice for sure! Consider how frustrated and angry most Brits (including myself) are. We're heavily suppressed in our ability to express ourselves and worse yet, no matter which we we've voted for twenty years we can't rid ourselves of these self-destructive policies. Reform are a motley bunch but people are angry and desperate for change here.

To be fair to Julie Bindel - she's not wrong about Tommy Robinson (Yaxley-Lennon) or Elon Musk. I would go further and describe them as C****.
Ms. Bindel refuses to engage the particularity of these rape gangs because that ill not lead to the total eradication of all sexual abuse. Julie Bindel grew up in a working class family on a council estate ( low income housing). She does not have an upper class accent.
She has been reporting on this story since 2007 and trying to get the word out. She has never given up trying to give a voice to those poor girls.
She also lost her job at a university for going against the trans orthodoxy. She was very publicly cancelled. She hates woke orthodoxy.
You don't have to like her, but you couldn't have her more wrong.
Fair enough, but how about this working class British person pulling a "no true Scotsman" argument?
Those other feminists with their intersectionality and their trans-inclusiveness, those aren't real feminists like me, she keeps saying. Sure they aren't.
It was evident the Julie is completely committed and has sacrificed much. In my opinion she does come across as someone who hates men though.

Here’s an article from Left Leaning The Independent from 2014. It’s pretty well documented https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/missing-rotherham-abuse-scandal-files-fuel-public-suspicion-of-a-deliberate-coverup-9802307.html The abuse occurred in the 90’s. By any measure, it was not handled well.
