I read that whole thing, and the only thing that stuck with me was "chest feeding." Egads. *runs and hides*

I loved this today. Thanks TFP

TFP, rather than just say you reached out to someone for comment, you should give more detail. Did you call, email, DM, stop by the person's home? It gives us subscribers more detail about the diligence TFP performed in giving people a chance to tell their side of the story.

Good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. I’m an engineer so it’s not my responsibility to place valve on your system. I had hoped my comment would lead to a discovery of “Capacity Factor”.

I live in southern Arizona, we have cloudless blue skies and sunshine every day. Southern AZ is one of the best places in the US to have a solar system! However, according to NREL, a rooftop solar system only operates a tad more than 20% of the time… If you live in Seattle or Washington DC your system will operate much less than the 20% that I would enjoy.

Would you buy a car that’s only operational 20% of the time? Would you buy a car that wouldn’t work in the rain? Would you buy a car that wouldn’t work if your local interstate highway was being repaired somewhere? Your solar system doesn’t work if sunshine is blocked like when it’s raining. A basic “ grid tie” system also doesn’t work in a power outage.

There’s probably a reason you’ve never been told about “capacity factor” or that a simple “grid tie” system” won’t work in a power outage. I’ll let you figure out why by yourself.

Hmmm.....isn't Seinfeld the same dude that dated/went to prom with a 17 year old when he was 36?

Biden needs Michigan votes more than he needs Israel as an ally...how utterly pathetic he is!!

Yeah, the CFTC trying to ban election contracts is really something. That proposed rule is basically a carbon copy of the order the agency issued against Kalshi’s election contracts. I am part of the team representing Kalshi in federal court challenging that order. Oral argument is on May 30, in federal district court in DC. Should be instructive!

“Where did all the male writers—and readers—go?“

I can’t help but wonder if it is linked with the publishers’ selection process.

We’ve read tons of article with male author saying publishers preferred minority authors, rather than stale male white writers.

That's very informative. Thanks. Though I pretty much already knew we were being hoodwinked by people who don't know how the world works.

Pielke's a very smart guy who's right about a lot. But he's wrong about solar -- for a ton of reasons.

I am appalled that Eurovision's Lithuanian contestant, Silvester Belt, called having to perform after the Israeli contestant a "trauma." During World War II, my Jewish relatives were rounded up by their Lithuanian neighbors, shot and buried in a ditch, some still alive but left to die an agonizing death, in a village not far from his hometown. Has nothing changed?

What a snowflake! Maybe Silvester needs to be locked in the Holocaust Museum for a night.

I live in the Smokie Mountains. It is SO life affirming to pass a mountain shorn of trees, replaced with a field of lovely solar panels. Magnificent!

As the owner of a flip phone I can second Christina's recommendation. I've never had a Smart phone and never will. My husband and children and even my 90 year old father has one but in this case, less is more. Less distraction, less people expecting to get me at any time. Less pressure to "scan the QR code" "download our App". When a restaurant insists on using a QR code menu we change restaurants. Life is good.

"The influential Democratic pollster Mark Penn says Joe Biden is going about his reelection bid all wrong: “His campaign appears all-too-focused on firming up his political base on the left with his new shift on Israel, a $7 trillion budget, massive tax increases, and failing to connect on the basic issues of inflation, immigration, and energy.” (NYT)"

I Love reading Comments. One thing I have seen is There are A Lot of really pissed off people out there. On The Left & Right.

Also people on the Left seem to think Donald Trump is just a passing phase. They Are Wrong, Even if they get rid of him, he has changed the political landscape. A Lot of us see Ron DeSantis (and others) as Donald Trump without The Trump Baggage.

Mr. Lewis may have been protesting (while his poorer, less well connected peers were humping gear through the jungle and getting shot at) to save lives of American soldiers, but plenty of his fellow protestors took time out to greet returning servicemen with jeers, boos and spittle while calling them babykillers. Enjoy the comparison, Steve, you've earned it.
