"the balm of exoneration that comes with victimhood"

A little boy skins his knee falling off his bike. He naturally cries for his mum and buries his head in her lap and wails. He is a victim and he is comforted. Feels good as almost everyone can remember. Woke Victimhood is a direct extension of that. It's no coincidence that most devout wokies are single, childless, middle or upper class white women -- they need to comfort someone and the Victims are more than happy to fill that need. But the boy's dad would tell him to get right back on his bike.

Very one sided. Many institutions likely have gone overboard with DEI policies - but you should find both sides of the story. Our medical establishment has so many biases which don't lead to spectacular care - or we wouldn't have such terrible health outcomes despite spending more than any other country on care.

"the prince"??? Stop calling Harry Montbatten-Windsor "the prince". For keerist's sake, we don't do titles in these parts. Just Harry or Harry Monbatten-Windsor.

That's not his last name. Allegedly.

Allegedly? You are not suggesting “Sussex” are you? That is his UK title. His grandma was a Windsor his grandpa was a Mountbatten. Both royals. Charles is a Mountbatten-Windsor. Diana was a non royal Spenser. Thus ...

A relief to know that people in the medical profession are really taking practical action to combat the appalling and tragic incursion of DEI.

For some reason the audio option is greyed out on these two articles. Anyone else having that issue?

Where is an audio available for these articles? I keep noticing this on the Free Press and it’s really annoying. Some of us don’t read.

Hello, yes, I’m having that same issue.

A related problem is the assumption that ALL children have suffered trauma, made worse of course by the covid pandemic, and must have therapy. Since most people won’t agree to this, therapy, called Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is now being conducted in American classrooms by teachers who have taken a quickie course. Trauma includes, of course, normal parents and therefore a major goal of these programs is undermining parental authority, separating children from their parents and replacing parents with various state authorized caregivers. Look up “trauma informed teaching”

I can’t speak for psychiatrists who are distinct from mental health counselors, social workers, and Psychologists. But trauma therapy has not captured the field of psychotherapy probably about 80% of psychotherapist practice cognitive behavioral therapy.

if nobody bothered to find that out before running that article, that’s a bit of egg on your face .

Sadly, science has become a political tool/weapon to promote or force a liberal worldview regardless of the damage to science and the people who depend on it. Thankfully there are real scientists who now recognize the dangers of politicized science and are fighting to restore public faith in their professions. If "follow the science" is to have any merit, the science must be based on open research and factual evidence. Anything else and we might as well be using leeches for cures.

What's missing from this conversation is that DEI is a political movement that cannot be disassociates from the Democratic Party. If we were honest about that, the DEI takeover of institutions is illegal political discrimination in addition to being illegal racial discrimination.

The real scary part is that this is what Democrats believe in now. They have replaced "equal rights" with Marxism at a fundamental level, and they've consolidated enough power now to terrifying people into silence.

"You know who has the power in society by whom you are not allowed to criticize."
