A lot happened in American politics last night: the Biden interview, the Vance unveiling, Trump’s RNC entrance—his first public appearance since Saturday’s shooting.
This episode, SO well done. I hope the people you interviewed read these comments, because I really learned something from them. The woman from Chicago who grew up in the projects, who referred to herself as a “meat and potatoes” sort of person, and “it’s all about the economics”….LOVED her. And the ex-convict (emphasis on “ex”-kudos to him), what an insightful person. Excellent observations. Also the guy from Milwaukee…you helped illustrate that the Republican Party isn’t just one stereotype of a person. Thank you!
Thanks Bari and The Free Press. The continuing great content gives this rural southern Ohio guy a clear unbiased view of our country and the world. I’m glad I’ve been a subscriber since you began. Our family enjoys both the podcasts and the written content. Do we always agree? Of course not. But I like to be challenged and hear different viewpoints.
You know the Wall Street Journal quoted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle as saying the roof of the building Trump was shot from didn’t have agents on it due to “safety concerns.”
Well let me just copy and paste:
“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there's a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn't want to put somebody up on a sloped roof.” She added “the decision was made to secure the building from inside.”
You see, unlevel surfaces are far to scary for Secret Service agents. Someone could slip!
I love this! Woke safetyism allowed an assassination attempt to happen. Oh the irony. If irony was pie there would be no more world hunger.
yes! Falling up stairs, the easter bunny having to monitor him at an event, the fumbling of words, shaking hands with air. I could go on and on. - and people have. There are video montages out there all over the place. The guests on this podcasts mentioned the "shock" of how bad he is several times. I don't agree with everything they said but they seem like reasonable smart people. I'm flabbergasted as to how anyone didn't know (or at least suspect) Biden's cognitive state was not up to snuff. The paid observers are having a rough week. Average Jim sees the shooter before the pros and average Jane has been worried about Joe Biden's state of mind for at least a year.

It looks like the WSJ was quoting ABC News

Some real BS - “we didn’t know how far gone Biden was”. What a couple of flakes, with no powers of observation. Stupid people talking for 2 hours.
