I like the Free Press. It serves my intellectual needs splendidly.
I dislike lefty commentators in silo-asylums who lose contact with reality, and eventually drift off into the never-never---thus becoming of no use to anybody.
I don't want this to happen to me.
Since, politically, I'm roughly 80% conservative, 20% libertarian, I need some moderate leftist input to keep me out of my own silo.
Eww, no. After seeing Bari disparage Tulsi on Joe Rogan I am letting my subscription lapse. I can’t believe I used to respect Bari! She’s a mean girl like all the rest of the MSM.
Critics are one of the most important aspects of editorial comments or lack there of we should welcome them. Should their assertions are found to be in error or wrong correction should be immediate I would invite the critics not to bail but engage give detail explanation about your perceptions and misgivings. Stay with us!
As an early subscriber to Common Sense, I have been a loyal reader and supporter since the very beginning. During that time, I have successfully persuaded dozens of friends and family members to become paying subscribers. In my household of five alone, three of us pay for The Free Press to support independent, diverse and free from censorship journalism. However, I cannot--in good conscience--participate in this contest until ALL YOUR CONTENT IS AUDIO-ENABLED. Please take your cues from your competitors (Racket News, Unreported Truths, Future of Jewish, Blacklisted, etc.) that ensure EVERY SINGLE POST AND ARTICLE can be both read and listened to. Your loyal readers do not have enough hours in the day to sit down and read all the rich and interesting content you publish. If your competitors can do this, why can't you? Until this is rectified, I will refrain from ongoing recruitment to your platform.
Really hoping this simple request can be fulfilled.
Best of luck in reaching your BHAG (big hairy audacious goal)
Bari, all I can say is - go for quality, not quantity. Wouldn't you rather be listened to than popular? You're articles for the most part need more depth. Get better, and readers will follow.
I received The FP subscription from my best friend as a birthday gift. On a side note I grew up in Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh where Bari was born and raised. I listened to the Rogan/Bari Weiss interview while she was still working at NYT. I am paraphrasing here, but my favorite question Bari asked Rogan was “do you believe everything you say?” Rogan’s response “I am in the entertainment business”. When my “birthday gift expires”, I will renew my subscription.
The comment section amuses me today. Apparently, TFP manages to be biased both too far to the right and too far to the left. As a stone-cold Libertarian who is curious to read opinions from both the WSJ and the NYT, I very much appreciate the refreshing perspectives of TFP. I wish you your first million subscribers, and many millions more. Free speech is the greatest gift this country gives to us.
Thank you Bari! I hope you reach your goal. I was one of your earliest subscribers and adore the Free Press. I tell everyone about it.
BTW, when I went to cancel my subscription to the NY Times, right before confirmation, a screen popped up "would I. like to continue for $1 per week. I said yes, only for the LULZ!! and it is already paying dividends = The NY Times ridiculous Froot Loop fact check of RFKjr had me laughing my ass off
Hah! I am loving the same $1 per week deal. I thought the fact check was pretty tame, and for the most part they agreed with RFK Jr, although they had to nit pick to point out places where he was wrong. I found the director of the CDC's comment that RFK Jr's "sharing of misinformation from a place of power is concerning" to be incredibly lacking in self-awareness. The CDC did more to damage their own reputation than any third party could ever have by sharing misinformation from a place of power and silencing dissenting voices.

The Free Press pleasantly fills the bill.
Especially since she called her a “toady” while having no idea what it meant! That was gross name calling!

Pardon Kevin Durant and I’ll help.

Congrats, Bari and team. You are the best news site North America is producing now.

"politically homeless" as they describe themselves

Hmmm, thank you Matthew C.
