Speaking as neither a Republican nor Democrat, the Democrats have pretty much guaranteed I will never vote for any member of their party ever again. Take that for what you will.

"University of Northampton have issued a trigger warning for George OrwellтАЩs novel on the grounds that it contains тАШexplicit materialтАЩ which some students may find тАШoffensive and upsettingтАЩ."
Is this a surrender to the fragility of this generation of students or an attempt by re-tread, Marxist academics to hide the ultimate outcome of their failed philosophy.
In any case the ideologue complainers should come out of their closet, make themselves public and argue their point in a debate.
They are always banging on about how "democracy dies in darkness" and "our democracy". Let's get it on. May the best debater win. I know a couple of Steamfitters, Carpenters and IT folks, without advanced degrees, who could handily win this debate and they are never listed among the "Highly Educated". One told me many years ago something I'll never forget "stop whining and get back to work". He did more math in his head in a day than most "highly educated" academics do in a year. So I did what he said and my life turned out pretty OK.
My parents were both the black-ish sheep of their respective families and never went to college. Nonetheless, compared with most of today's high school and college grads, they were definitely "well educated": My father ran his own business and my mother managed a business office. And I never witnessed either one of them making a grammatical or mathematical error.
I figured that out more than 20 years ago. I've sometimes voted Republican, other times Libertarian, but never Democratic. I voted for Clinton and worked on his campaign in 1992. It's unlikely I'll vote for his party, at any level of government, ever again. The next step is start prosecuting the most egregious of the office holders, jailing them, them disbarring them and keeping them from running for office ever again. A good place to start is the ludicrously misnamed "progressive" prosecutors.
I did the same! I canvassed for Clinton and voted for him -- I was very angry at the beginning of his presidency, but then he pivoted and was overall moderate. I didn't vote for Obama, but figured he would pivot as well. Sure was wrong on that! Beyond their increaingly far-left platform, the Deomocrats are incredibly, incredibly corrupt.
I will never vote for a Democrat again, unless I don't have a choice (where I live, sometimes there are only two Democrats to choose from for some offices). The current platform of the Democrats is disgusting, they are have given us incompetence and corruption, and they are totalitarians. I really thought a third party was going to emerge in teh last few years, but so far there is nothing I consider at all credible.
"Woke" and "awake" are opposites. "Woke" is a classic case of what Marxists, in the old days, called "false consciousness" -- fancyspeak for "clueless." Or when the Nazis called for "Deutschland erwache" (Germany awake). More like, go to sleep.
The woke democrats suck on a whole array of issues - immigration, education, crime. But Trump was the worst single leader in history - and the Republican party is just a cult worshiping him. The man voraciously lied about hurricane paths and what he ate for lunch and who he may or may not have raw dogged - he lied about EVERYTHING. He didn't build a wall, didn't effectively deport any more illegals than Obama, didn't hurt China in any conceivable way, complimented the leader of N. Korea, and helped anti-vax beliefs become a core R principle when it used to more a D principle before (despite himself getting vaxxed and boosted). When Trump gets jealous - he turns on all of his own - just watch him go on the attack in regards to Desantis recently. Or more than half of the cabinet he himself picked. People like Bannon or Sessions - hard right in virtually every way. If virtually ANYONE else becomes the nominee in 2024, I want the Rs to crush the Ds. If Trump is the nominee - I'll support the incompetent CRT loving Ds - because they would be the lesser of two awful evils.
If lying is your criterion, Biden tells some whoppers. If turning on people is a problem, look what the dems are doing to Manchin and Sinema. They need security for their families. No, you, like so many people have a visceral revulsion of Trump that you need to justify with the reasons you present. And thatтАЩs OK, but be honestтАФ-everything Trump did, the dems do too, even worse. Uh, Hillary and her secret server?
Meanwhile, under Trump, gas was $1.99/gal, no inflation, full employment and Putin and Kim werenтАЩt sabre rattling.
While the site and sound of Trump set people like you off, you have to admit, America was in a much better place than it is now.
NC..good job, not to mention the Anti-vax Biden/Harris, so they stated before they got the office, and the 700 people from the 1/6 peaceful demonstration , now in jail "without trial". onward
Trump turned on virtually everyone for the most minor of things. Like everyone - and viciously too. Publicly. Including eventually BOTH of his attorney generals. His security advisors. His secretary of state. His hand placed replacement for FBI head. His VP. Campaign managers, lawyers, cabinet officials, like everyone. I wish Twitter didn't delete his account - because it was so easy to link to his overt lies and attacks against his own team. Biden is semi-turning on two people (that I support) - and even then, he's not publicly trashing him. The woke part of the party is. Comparing Biden's lying to Trump's is like saying that a shoplifter and a serial murderer are both criminals. Sure - technically true. But one is way worse than the other.
You are out of your mind - and little different than the woke cultists in the left. My issue with Trump's lying was not to provide an exhaustive list, but to emphasize it was almost about EVERYTHING. He lauded Putin, Xi and Kim Jung Ul - while basically lambasting the leaders of Denmark over Greenland (a country much more effective than Trump's USA was at keeping out illegals), France, Germany, Canada and countless allies. His reluctance to accept the coming pandemic (because of fears of the economy hurting him politically) led to a death rate over THREE times neighboring Canada. If he had acknowledged it - he would have not only reduced the death rate, he would have won in a landslide. Every developed Western nation has a lower death rate than the USA, despite the USA having every advantage imaginable - only anti-vax backwards eastern european nations (and peru and brazil) have higher death rates. My cousin is an MD in a very TRUMP area - and in the last 6 weeks - countless deaths of Trumpkins in their 40s/50s/60s - almost all political anti-vaxxers. Anti-vaxx beliefs are higher in the USA than in any other developed Western nation. That's on Trump - who only became clearly vocal on the risks of Covid and the benefits of vaccines too late (I'll give kudos to him now - but it's too late really). Any other Republican president, or Democratic president in 2020 - and this wouldn't have happened. Trump's idiocy and clear incompetence also further radicalized the left. So yes - Biden is countless times better than Trump. And lastly, in regards to Kim Jong Un - imagine Obama framing a photo of him shaking hands with Khamenei in his office, or Bush with Saddam. When Trump met with Rittenhouse in his office, what was most striking was the photo of him shaking hands with a smiling Kim Jong Un being so prominent - a man that has genuinely threatened to strike America with missiles. https://twitter.com/jchaltiwanger/status/1463479472456413187
Trump will be neck deep in legal doo doo in a years time. He's knee deep now. I guess if the RNC keeps paying his legal bills he might be ok - but he better watch out. There's a lot of Republican fatigue right now. As in get over the last election, stupid or get out of the way. DeSantis and a few others are going to take it all away from him. He's done. And it'll be at the hands of his own party. Place your bets on someone else - Ann Coulter is.
Lee... while the country goes broke spending how much of the tax payers money on Trumpty...so funny indeed, got to be well over $100 Million so far and what did they catch,da ? That is one expensive Fishing trip and they end up with "their own Doo"... oh my!
On technical points, Ann Coulter was the first person I ever heard predict that Trump would be elected in 2016, so she's been right at least once before.
Nope. I might vote for them on occasion for pragmatic reasons (like not having Clinton bagman Terry McAuliffe for a governor again), but that's about it. The GOP is not my friend, they just don't seem to hate me quite as much.
This entire thread starting from Lee on down to Theophilus is the manifestation of a point I've been trying to convince myself of these past few years:
In the US political context, third parties always draw inordinately from either the Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum (R and D) parties. So, the 3rd party loses AND the party the voter got pulled away from also loses.
I would contend that nothing like the entrenched party machines existed then, as it does now and for decades. Those machines are first and foremost geared towards self perpetuation. No US voter alive today has ever known anything serious outside the R - D paradigm. And I voted for Perot as my first vote in 1996.
Unfortunately, anyone who desires political office tends to be either corrupt or corruptible. It's time for an independent and self sufficient populace.
Speaking as neither a Republican nor Democrat, the Democrats have pretty much guaranteed I will never vote for any member of their party ever again. Take that for what you will.
Here's a University in Orwell's UK that is putting "Trigger Warnings" on "1984" https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10430597/University-slaps-trigger-warning-George-Orwells-Nineteen-Eighty-Four.html

I won't say never, but as long as I see this authoritarian, illiberal bent, I'm with you.

Hard to believe you have much genuine criticism for Democrats when you still swallow their propaganda about non-Democrats hook, line, and sinker.
Then along came Biden and all of a sudden TrumpтАжlooks maybe not so badтАж
Thomas...to say the least
You just donтАЩt like Trump, thatтАЩs cool. However your diatribe is wrong in so many places. Best wishes

7 out of 7 days, sorry.

They donтАЩt hate you, they are just cowardly and incompetent
Challenge: Point out something awful about the GOP that is actually true, rather than being a Democrat claim.
That's like saying that we have no hope. And no choice. I don't vote for anyone who I don't trust. Usually, I vote Libertarian.
