A friend from undergrad days did his PhD in physics at Vandy. I remember going to a football game where Vandy was being massacred by another SEC team. My yell was: at least you had to have a triple-digit IQ to get into Vandy. Alas, that appears not to be the case any longer.
I have said it before. I will say it again. Tough love: kick your kids to the curb! Why are these spoiled brats even at Vanderbilt? Has anyone ever noticed the vast majority of these protests that we see (whatever the issue) are young women (often in college, often still girls in terms of maturity and life experience)? Male nature at its worst: violence; rape; theft; rudeness of a disgusting nature. Female nature at its worst: misdiagnosing social ills and taking to protest about their misdiagnosis and then kvetching (there's a less civilized term I have chosen to avoid) they are somehow being denied "rights." Is there anything radical protestors DO NOT see as a right (Constitutionally protected ones like religious practice, speech, and firearms not withstanding)? When college is done with these people, parents please, kick 'em to the curb. If they can't get a job related to their worthless college major, there are plenty of business hiring. They'll learn more valuable lessons at a job than they did in college. I close by commenting that Vanderbilt earned a few points in my book in buying lunch for the police officers.
I would love to see a Venn diagram of unhinged college activists and Adderall users. I feel like these are the same people that can go through old Tweets for hours on end searching for that one damning post.
The utter stupidity of today's college students is appalling. But, in truth, it is their parents who are to blame for not holding their children to at least the same standards as they experienced. Maybe if today's kids were required watch film excerpts from the '50s era, A month long series of the Lone Ranger, Roy Rodgers, Hopalong Cassidy? How about no cell phone until 18 years of age?
Most of the commentators here miss the point. The value of a liberal arts education, certainly redeeming the massive amounts of money spent, is the following: You get to say or do whatever you want, then justify it with the latest psychobabble virtue signalling. Where else can you learn how to tell people BS smells like roses.
Back in the day, a twenty-one hour "sit in" on campus would only have occurred if everyone was still too drunk to stand up twenty-one hours after a party. These kids are all so creepily homogenous and so earnest in their superiority. They either should go to graduate school forever then teach at their universities or get one terrible (preferably physical) job with a mean boss and bad pay to set them straight.
This story is one of the top reasons I subscribed to Free Press for annual

Why weren't they all suspended? Or better yet, expelled.

I’m sure the Vanderbilt’s DEI department feels that admitting idiots is just an important aspect of being ‘inclusive”.
I’m willing to assume that there were tampons in the men’s rooms as well?
I love some of the turn of phrase in here. This made my morning coffee so much more fun.
The left-wing teapot tempest loathes the four cardinal
virtues of antiquity—wisdom, temperance, justice,
courage—and the three theological virtues—faith,
hope, love. Once the virtues are gone, logic and
reason as well exit the stage door. Common sense
be damned cry the minions.
Intellectual brain food becomes scarce, leaving only
rage, emotion, and passion to draw on. Solzhenitsyn
asks how can a reasonable man engage in discourse
with an unreasonable one? The answer lies in the
question. You can’t. If you can’t, the perplexing
question becomes how can society be saved?
What is the difference between a conspiracy theory and reality? Two years.

The tampon could not take this protest seriously. It's a metaphor. That tampon is us. America is that tampon.
TG for plastic water bottles...they didn't have to sully their $45 Stanley or Yetis with urine.
She's afraid her buddy might get arrested. What kind of social justice warriors are they?
