Let’s promote “chromosome confirming care” to stop adults harming kids with cognitive dissonance—“You’re an XY male human, but if you say you’re a female bear, that’s fine as long as you’re happy. What? You’re unhappy?” We adults can be cowardly, well educated fools.

Many of these children will be rendered infertile.

They will never be able to have children of there own.

That is the biggest tragedy.

And, how little it is considered.

The U.S. is one of the only - if not THE only - developed country that has rejected the research findings that caused the UK, Sweden, Norway, France, Finland, and other developed nations to reject 'gender-affirming care.' I'm no expert, and I cannot begin to imagine what it is like to wake up every day believing you are in the wrong body, that you should have been born the opposite gender.

What I do know is that here in the U.S., we've changed our laws after finally recognizing that the brain is not fully developed until we are in our early 20's. That's why the U.S. does not allow a juvenile defendant to be sentenced to the death penalty, or to life without parole. Because we know that despite the heinous crimes that were committed, those defendants did not have the brain capacity of an adult.

Gender affirming care is not an LGBTQ+ issue, it's not an identity politics issue, it is a healthcare issue. Let's fund the research, dissect the findings, and apply the recommended practices based on the peer-reviewed evidence without regard for being politically correct.

“First, Do No Harm” is the core principle of the Hippocratic Oath that Doctors take when they are sworn in. The evidence is overwhelming that these surgeries on minors and these drugs are doing harm. How the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the AMA continue to support surgeries as well as puberty blockers and other drugs for minors is beyond belief. It’s clear they are willing to ignore the truth and harm minors to advance their narrative.

Plastic surgery, of all the medical disciplines, is the first one to show a collective sense of morality and ethics?

*I realize there are many plastic surgeons doing legitimate and beneficial works all over the world (fixing cleft palates, working on severe burn victims, etc.), but the superficial nip-and-tuckers showing they’re not entirely morally bankrupt is definitely a happy surprise.

Finally some sanity begins to prevail in the face of a lack of evidence and a corresponding lack of research. Even Europe, which has historically been much less catholic (small "c", not large "C") in its embrace of sexuality than our, has backed away from this practice. Minors (& even older adolescents) do not have the brain development or judgment development to make these types of "decisions" that are so incredibly life altering. (That is also why they are considered too young to vote, to be drafted, to drive a car, and the list goes on and on). IMO gender-affirming care, particularly where it involves the physical removal or interference with (or supplementation) of genitalia (or other "sex organs - like breasts) is tantamount to the genital mutilation that we so object to in Third World countries , unless we are dealing with genuine sexual development disorder where the genitals are not clearly or properly developed or where there is a genetic abnormality, such as XXY, mosaicism) Such monumental decisions require maturity, reflections, and a great deal of appropriate psychological counseling before being undertaken, because there is frequently no chance for "buyer's remorse".

I can see why The NY Times isn’t exactly jumping on board—after all, the research came from a conservative think tank that’s had a knee-jerk reaction to gender transitioning from day one. I’ll save my applause for when I see a study from a reputable, unbiased source.

Why isn't this short piece on the top of the front page ? This is a big deal !

This is a big story , a break from the BS general medical consensus , a leak in the dam etc . What has been going on here is just extreme cutting off body parts of children and teens has got to stop , and as the story about "Inside the Campaign to Blacklist ‘Zionist’ Therapists" hits hard about the Therapists being taken over , and "How Bad Therapy Hijacked Our Nation’s Schools" . This can start to take these very bad ideas of gender problems back into the idea that these kids have many problems and fixing there big problems is the solution . Gender with school kids is always a problem in normal development , take the normal out of the problem list and whats left the NOT normal . The politics of the US has kept us stuck in the wrong place here , and this politics is the problem and needs to be voted out !

"New analysis by the Manhattan Institute has found evidence of 5,288 to 6,294 “gender-affirming” double mastectomies for girls under 18 between 2017 to 2023, including 50 to 179 girls who were 12.5 or younger when they had their breasts removed."

WTF is wrong with these people. Plenty of blame to go around, starting with terrible parents, terrible governments (Waltz and Newsome come to mind), but no surgeon should ever be removing healthy breasts of girls under 13.

They barely even have breasts at 13.

Exactly. But the parent and surgeon are convinced that she would kill herself if she had to endure the horror of the breasts as they ... ugh ... develop.
