Finally some sanity begins to prevail in the face of a lack of evidence and a corresponding lack of research. Even Europe, which has historically been much less catholic (small "c", not large "C") in its embrace of sexuality than our, has backed away from this practice. Minors (& even older adolescents) do not have the brain development or judgment development to make these types of "decisions" that are so incredibly life altering. (That is also why they are considered too young to vote, to be drafted, to drive a car, and the list goes on and on). IMO gender-affirming care, particularly where it involves the physical removal or interference with (or supplementation) of genitalia (or other "sex organs - like breasts) is tantamount to the genital mutilation that we so object to in Third World countries , unless we are dealing with genuine sexual development disorder where the genitals are not clearly or properly developed or where there is a genetic abnormality, such as XXY, mosaicism) Such monumental decisions require maturity, reflections, and a great deal of appropriate psychological counseling before being undertaken, because there is frequently no chance for "buyer's remorse".
