I am worried about this young man, but I am also worried about myself. I fear I am now a complete cynic. I live in a "free country" and would NEVER post my opinion about October 7 on social media, yet he lives in an oppressive fundamentalist society and didn't think twice about posting multiple times about his concerns for his Israeli friends? He seems too smart/too educated/too worldly to do something so naive. His interview seemed incredibly risky--why would he jeopardize his family? His life? Listening to this interview made me incredibly sad to realize that in this era of disinformation and misinformation, I don't know who or what to believe. Ten years ago I would have donated to his Go Fund Me. Today, I see grifters everywhere. He might be totally legit, but my BS radar really lit up with this story. God help us all.
