As we have seen in the past with Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, there is always "dirt" alledged to a candidate. There was some of that happen to Justice Clarence Thomas, though they all were successful.
In 2017, we changed the need for the Senate votes to allow for a simple majority, but I hope partisonship will, more clearly, define the ideas of what a Supreme Court Justice should be: The best of the best, regardless of gender or race.
