They are reaping what they have sown. They have been smugly unctuous for decades and haughtily dismissive when The Deplorables attempted to call "Foul!" Dating back to the murder of Yankel Rosenbaum more than thirty years ago they have been handing the rope to their hangmen.

Nonetheless, I would prefer to see civic order and civilization restored. At the same time I do not want to ever stop reminding those whose "tolerance" spawned this social obscenity that they abandoned Civilization's values and mores. They chose to join the madding crowd in persecuting people of faith who resisted the license they gave to the parasitic and the destructive nihilists they created. They should suffer.

Just not forever.

I don't think there is any question AOC and Brad Lander are antisemitic. I would say their qualified statements are certainly too little and too late - really just damage control - trying to stem the hemorrhaging democratic constituency. I would like to believe them but I know they will turn around and equate Netanyahu to Sinwar - accusing Israel of genocide and calling Hamas freedom fighters, etc, etc. They will continue to fan the flames of antisemitism and radical wokeism. They are in large part responsible for this antisemitic rage.

I might believe AOC if for example she called out Tlaib for her speech lauding the Palestinian 'resistance' at the plainly antisemitic People's Conference for Palestine in Detroit a few weeks ago with known Hamas affiliates.

"No one deserves antisemitism—no matter how dumb their politics."

It is true no one deserves antisemitism, hate, racism, and all the 'ism'. But the progressive Jews have to accept some responsibility for the reckoning at their door steps. All the people for decades called for the burning down of our modern civilization should not be surprise to find out their houses are burned down by the same mob that shares the same toxic politics. Today it's against the Jews. Tomorrow, the mob will target all of us. No one deserves it but It's not too late to wake up.

Neither Biden nor most Democrats are anti-Semitic. However, there is a sizeable and influential wing of the party that is, including some sitting in Congress. On the whole, the party has either ignored or actively abetted the most serious outbreak of anti-Semitism in U.S. history. Voting Democratic enables the extremists to continue sitting on or chairing important committees, boosts their profiles, etc. etc. They need to be banished to the wilderness. If the Democratic party is too cowardly to expel them, it doesn't deserve our votes. I can understand non-Jews feeling differently, but to me this threatens my family and therefore overrides any other issue.

The woken leaders need to create new groups of deplorables to disparage in order to stay in power. The elites ran out of deplorable groups after men, conservatives, caucasians, and people who just want to live life without getting worked up about what other people are doing. Labels like racist, nazi, and white supremacy have lost all meaning. So the next group to be voted off the progressive island are Jewish.

I agree that progressive Jews do not deserve the anti-semitism from their supposed allies who turned on them. However, they need to recognize that they did help "build it" and to recognize that the likes of Omar and Tlaib are as much enemies as Sarsour and Farrakhan.

The left always finds a way to destroy themselves with their policies. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sheeple in the democratic party that wake up when it's too late and ask "what happened"!

As a young man I often wondered how the Jews in Eastern Europe could have been so blind to what was happening all around them. Even as the attacks happened, as their rights taken away, their humanity stripped, many still believed that was the worst it could get. It wouldn't get any further. Civilization will come to its senses. A part of me understands their disbelief. But another part of me, that part that has watched culture here in the US over the decades, thinks there something else. It is that people on the secular left, are leftists or progressives first, Americans second, Jews third. Or maybe it's Jews second, Americans third. It's hard to know. But...it's a free country. They can be what they want. That said, the reality is that the world will come for them anyway. It doesn't matter how they see themselves. The world sees them- us- as Jews first. We need to recognize that.

I wondered about this as a young man. And I swore I would not be of a Jewish generation that would be walked into a cattle car. But as a young man I moved to the right simply based on what I was seeing years ago from the left. And through life lessons from my grandfather- my Zeyde, who had found his way from the pogroms of the Ukraine, through Europe and somehow made it to the US.

I don't wish bad things on the progressive Jewish community here in the US. But yes- they have been part of the problem. They have nurtured and helped create this vast monster that is now out of control. The mix of Marxism and antisemitism is not a surprise, it is not a new concept.

So, on this I would say I wish all safe passage through this period and this life. But, it is well beyond the time for some to rethink the positions they've held for many years. Playing nice to bad people wielding bad thinking because you think your 'niceness' can overcome their 'bad' is wishful thinking. Know them fo

Maybe I'm sensitive to this issue since my father was a Holocaust survivor, but it is important to recognize that the overwhelming majority of those European Jews had nowhere to go. The U.S. was closed to immigrants and other countries accepted very few.

Palestine, where there was a significant Jewish community that could have taken in hundreds of thousands, was rocked by the Arab Revolt from 1936-39, whose main objective was an end to Jewish immigration. The British authorities finally acquiesced to Arab demands in May 1939, closing the last escape hatch from Europe.

Of course there are many perspectives on this. And importantly, I was not there. I did not have to live through it. I apologize to you and to your father (or his memory). I mean no insult to him. What he went through was something I cannot even imagine. Somehow, my grandparents, got out ahead of it. I'm blessed in that. But what those in Europe went through then is the lesson we have to learn for today. When we see this evil raising its head again, there cannot be any equivocation. What we're seeing in the streets of London, New York, Toronto, on our university campuses, from the mouths of our own Democratic Congresspeople, from the podium at the UN...this is madness. We- all of us- have to see it and know it for what it is. And...once again, there is nowhere to run. So now we must stand and fight.

I don’t take your comment as any insult to his memory at all. It is difficult to imagine those circumstances from this far away. However we have their experience to learn from and you’re right that in spite of that, many American Jews on the left seem to think their progressive bona-fides will keep them from harm. I doubt it will help any more than the medals German Jews received fighting for the Kaiser.

We should recognize that the people the USA is supporting in Ukraine are, quite literally, the direct descendants of the Nazi converts of WW2 that committed those pogroms. This is fact, not a lie or misrepresentation.

Actually, it both a lie and a misrepresentation. While antisemitism exists in Ukraine, Zelensky is Jewish and most Ukrainians are more interested in building a viable nation and being free from aggression by the brutal and vicious Putin.

I’ve watched with horror the last 8 months as members of New York’s Jewish cultural elites have bent over backwards to criticize Israel and show that they are one of the good ones. I hope they wake up, because when the masked black shirts come they won’t be keeping track.

The left in the US has become a turbulent pool of hatred, fear, prejudice, and political opportunism. ( I won't address the right, other than to say that it's not much different.) The left, and the right, once upon a time, had a clear history of classic Liberalism, now long gone. Today, it's hate all the way, and pick your minority group to identify with. Sad to see.

As Stalin is reported to have said, "When we hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope." A similar dynamic is in place with Progressive Jews funding and publicly supporting the mindless drivel that is Woke ideology. To quote another prominent historical figure, George Orwell: "One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that. No ordinary man could be such a fool." These Jews who are being targeted by their Progressive brethren are being handed a hard lesson in common sense. I hope they are ready to "do the work".

It is strange that people don't change unless struck by disaster, despite they have plenty of warnings from all side, for decades. I know many Jews and almost all of them are anti-gun, for no reason other than the Democratic Party is anti-gun, anti-personal defense. After Oct 7, the is an appreciable uptick in Jews buying guns. Reality and politics don't always match. The realization that the same people that the Jews supported now want them dead, drove home the idea they can only rely on themselves for self-defense. Suddenly all the facade of politics dropped away and they have to face reality. I hope they all learn the lesson sooner than later.

In my former country, all the intelligencia all advocated for Communism but they found out their Communist leader don't really care about the educated elites. They found out too late after their Communist leader started to execute all the intelligencia.

Some....progressive Jews.....realize they have a Jew hatred problem. Most Progressives don't even admit that the recent protests are anti-Semitic. And even most of the progressive Jews will accept their own demise in favor of not impeding the Liberal arc of history. It's depressing beyond imagination.

I do agree, however with the author statement “ But if the alarm is finally rousing them out of their slumber, we shouldn’t pour cold water on their heads. We should welcome them back to reality.”, but only if there is some way to know that the realization is genuine.

BTW....if you are a Jew and you vote democrat, you are a damn fool looking to commit suicide. If they win in November they are gonna be back on track with this stuff and they will be ticked off they had to tone it down for an election and they will take it as validation and probably be even worse.

Jews have a sever case of Stockholm syndrome as it pertains to the democrat party.

Maybe those who support the left in a knee jerk way and who knee jerk respond to anything a conservative has to say should take good long look at themselves and see just how ugly they have become and how they got there.

Cuz from where I am sitting, it looks to me that so long as you support abortion rights anything else goes. If you will publicly say that you support a woman's right to abort her child for any reason up until birth you can be a pedophile, a rapist, even commit murder and they are gonna back anything you do. All else is forgivable.

Our society is out of control. When you can be evil and do evil things so long as you support the mutilation of young children, the destruction of women's spaces and sports, own an EV or desire to own one, and support unfettered abortion, your society is out of control.
