I guess whether you agree with Kat depends on whether you've found that person.

The newer generations most definitely believe (as they have been told) to never feel ANY type of emotional pain, discomfort, embarrassment, anger, anguish, disappointment- their entire lives are about how one feels and the false idea of fairness.

These false premises will lead to a life NOT lived and a death alone in old age. We risk negative feelings and interactions every day- unless you don’t leave your safe space of your home and the internet. No one needs to worry about the Wests impact on the climate and resources- they will die out soon enough with this pathetic and apathetic mindset.

Where did our sense of personal pride go?

I feel out of place in this reality TV world.

What happened to us?

I stand with my previous comment. Injuries and deaths from falling off a ladder or swimming alone are much less common than those from car or bike accidents. Seat belts and helmets save lives and take a few seconds to attach. They don't impede our freedom in any significant way. The costs of not wearing a seat belt or helmet to the injured person and everyone else involved with them in the event of an accident are real. If you ever have to stand by the bedside of a dying child alongside their parents and/or grandparents, see how you might feel then. Or have to tell a child once he "wakes up" that his mother died in the same accident that had left him in a coma. Those were some of my experiences as a former hospital social worker.

For context, I’m the same age as the Golden Batchelor. Married to my best friend. My picture is from a Jimmy Buffet concert in Key West in January. Rode our e-bikes.

So…back to Golden Jerry….

sometimes cringe, yes, but these women are having fun!!! It’ll be sad to go home if they are not a good fit. And Jerry is such a gentle soul. It clearly hurts him to send ladies home. But the sweet lady who left said just what I was thinking! “There are good guys out there!”What a hopeful message for people who are sitting on the couch missing life!!

PS. I know nothing about that naked show! :)

It is all so sad to see.

"Seen through this digital paradigm, it doesn’t seem fair that a man can hurt your feelings and just get away with it."

I don't understand this sentiment, and it's the driving force behind the culture of consent. Pushing consent on everyone to protect people's feelings has led to real people going to very real jail. Hurting people's feelings is legal. Maybe you're a jerk for doing it, but lest anyone forgets, men are allowed to reject women and hurt their feelings without legal consequences.

Personally, I liked some vajayjays, others not so much. But I'm old now, and alas, there are no longer any vajayjays in my life. Anyone else out there remember a movie called They Shoot Horses Don't They?

I do. Jane Fonda died.

This article is a mess. How have we gotten to a point where objectification is mistaken for “vulnerability?”

I remember how appalled I was at the premise of "Temptation Island," the supposed "reality" show that charged contestants with breaking up a happy couple. This crap is even worse. I have no desire to give either of them any of the precious time I have left in this world. Neither will I ever be addicted to this kind of disgust -- turning love into a "survival of the fittest" competition or, worst of all, reducing the choice of a partner solely to their sexual organ in graphic detail. It's just yet another example of the 21st Century's latest form of prostitution. Only this time, what's being prostituted is love itself. Love should be sacred. Popular culture has turned it into wallowing in the mire and entertainment into voyeurism of people wallowing in the mire.

I am done with the superficial, objectifying, bizarre approaches our culture now takes when it comes to relationships bwtween men and women. It endangers marriage, friendships and even work relationships. We're in trouble as a nation.

Actually can’t believe I read this. I’ve never watched one of these shows, now I know why.

As an aside though, do they ever have a woman seeking love and surrounded by an equally motley crew of men?

Who cares about this stupid show?

I pay for this subscription I want better journalism, more investigative reporting.

I hope Bari investigates the recent Palestinian attack on Israel.

HOW IRONIC it comes right after Iran receives a big chunk of money from the US, thank you Biden(Obama).

Social issues are as equally important as political issues. If this is what relationships are descending into, it's no small matter, especially in the face of a coming population collapse.

It's mostly all scripted and those who are chosen because they can act desperate and are "cringeworthy" or can cry or yell with ease.
