No it isn't. Out political system is based on the Constitution. And political parties are NOT outline therein. Read George Washington's farewell address...
I would suggest reading some history. Particularly the early years of the Republic. Because shortly after Ratification we had 2 different political parties. Actually they existed before an during that debate.
I do read history. And yes, I am aware of Jefferson and Hamilton's parties. My point is that they are not part of the government structure. There is NO mention of political parties in the founding documents of our government. Humans will always have factions, for sure. But you don't need to join one and they are not all equal. In this case, one faction is infinitely worse than the other.
