So this is how I find out that my 1974 VW Super beetle Cabriolet in Ravenna Green, is BRAT? I guess I will keep it in the garage this year out of shame.

Cat ladies may vote, but never for Republicans.

After listening to the latest episode on Honestly as they tried to define the term "Brat" I couldn't help but think of Iliza Shlesinger's "Party Goblin" routine.

Trump's RNC acceptance speech was such a missed opportunity. The media were always going to favor Harris or whoever took over from Biden, but it would have been far more difficult for them to ignore Trump or other Republican's concerns about Harris had he taken the high road.

Instead, Trump gave the media the freedom to ignore him. The current efforts by Republicans to talk about "a coup" is just going to harm them even more. This has also made if more difficult for prominent Republicans to stick their necks out and support Trump as they had started to do after the assassination attempt.

Republicans do not win elections when the media is solidly against them. They need some degree of ambiguity even if the media leans left. Trump's overconfidence in his ability to convince the electorate that his positions are best for America seems likely to lead to his defeat at this point.

You can see the WSJ and other outlets leaning back a bit now. Trump has a week or two at most to pivot, otherwise he is going to lose. Throwing red meat to his base will at best get 45% of the electorate and woefully little of the intelligentsia that controls the media. Harris might be a liberal disaster, but she's not a cognitively addled Joe Biden. Trump needs to go after her policy and do it with authenticity and passion while leaving the personal insults out. The canary will be funding. If that slows , Trump's toast.

Whomever is in charge of layout at The Free Press needs to be fired. They're still promoting this awful garbage front and center while they buried Peter Savodnik's latest, excellent reporting about the gaslighting going on in the media right now about Border Czar Harris.

Read this instead of Wiseman's drivel. https://www.thefp.com/p/gaslighting-the-public-on-kamala

Sovodnik's piece came up front and center for me this morning...yes, it's great.

I'm sure me questioning why it was nowhere to be found on the site still four hours after it went live is just a coincidence.

Thanks, Matthew C. I'll go over there now.

Don't know about Brat vs. Macho. I'd say the election is about the privileged educated class vs. the marginalized ordinary middle class. But then, I'm biased.

lmao "educated". Sure bro

Macho Man? Who writes that kind of a totally stoopid headline?! Twumpy is so far from macho there isn't a polite word for it.

Perhaps some news will come one day from the FP? Please? Pretty please?

I love editorials, but I can get them anywhere. What I can't get anywhere (at all, apparently) is hard news from a neutral source. There's a lot happening in the world. PLEASE report on some of it.

Sorry Oliver, didn’t do it for me. Be careful, your far left leaning just might get you toppling to the ground. Ouch! V.

TFP - please stop these 800ish word mini essays that indulge in trends but with zero depth, no research, and no background. There's nothing to see here. Make it a story - but your writer can't do it. So let it go..

Is America really ready to vote for a person stupid enough to self identify as a “Brat” as defined by some British entertainer?? Can’t make up how concerning that thought is.

look up the definition of a Kamala , that is what you are voting for

Well, I just went from a never Trumper to a hold my nose and vote for him voter. No way in God's green earth a thinking person can vote for a nit wit like Momola.

Millions of "zomg aborshin" halfwit women in this country will outweigh you and me, I'm afraid.

And that "the nation needs a momala" bullshit makes me want to projectile barf. A. I have a mom; I know you didn't Drew but grow your ass up you're a middle aged woman; B. It's an insult to actual mothers like myself to assert that Harris is motherly in any way; C. It's sexist to bring this fake-ass mom nonsense to the table (did anyone expect Margaret Thatcher to act like a mom?!) D. I want a capable executive; call me crazy

Kamala was the most left-wing person in the Senate, and assuming she gets the nod, will be the most left-wing nominee in history, even further left than Obama.

A victory like her would either cause an irreversible economic and social collapse of our entire country, or result in a split and possible civil war

She was indeed. In case anyone wants the backup: https://www.govtrack.us/posts/268/2020-08-14_what-bills-has-democratic-running-mate-sen-kamala-harris-introduced

"On July 23, 2024, this article was updated. The text ", especially given our ranking her as the most left-leaning senator in 2019 based on cosponsorship. But looking at the legislation she’s introduced tells a different story — judge for yourself." was removed. Once the 2019--2020 session of Congress was complete, the statistics for the entire session and for Harris's entire tenure in the senate showed a different story."
