"Gow tells me what he does in his “private life” with his wife is protected by the First Amendment. "

This guy is a university CHANCELLOR? How can he not understand the most basic truth about the First Amendment which is that it ONLY protects you from retribution by the GOVERNMENT?

Wow. Just wow.

When you have to lie, Oliver, you have already lost the argument. Trump did not "boast" about "grabbing them by the pussy". Trump made the very unremarkable observation, in remarkably crude terms, that women are far more likely to appreciate an approach by a celebrity, than by a non-celeb.

I often wonder WHICH women people talk to about Trump. MOST of my close friends who are women like Trump. I like Trump. I am a woman. I am thrice college graduated, business owning woman. I don't have kids and I am not officially married, but cohabitate with my long time partner(who is a man). I should be a Democrat dream.....but I like Trump. He's raw and rough and he does not apologize. Shockingly, there are a LOT of us women still left who want a man to be a MAN, not a beta cuck who simps to everything women say.

From a woman's standpoint, let me make this clear---women are frequently crazy. It's not always under our control. Hormones are a bitch and they make bitches as well....it's a medical fact. I had a premenstrual meltdown in college one time because I couldn't get a dryer to dry my clothes.....that's FUCKING irrational and a totally female thing to do.

For the leader of a country, I want someone stable and strong. You may not agree with Trump, but he's stable and he's a badass and that's what we need.

Oliver Wiseman says Trump “boasts” about “grabbing them by the pussy” as if Trump is regularly and currently making such comments. But this remark was from a private conversation decades ago. When tape of that private conversation came out in 2016, Trump characterized it as “locker room talk” and said he was not proud of it. Hardly sounds like this is something he brags about. (Also worth noting that in this private conversation Trump said the women “let” him do this, ie it was consensual).

Wiseman also refers to the Jean Carroll verdict as if that decision in a civil defamation case by a Trump hating jury establishes Trump as a sexual assaulter. Only Trump haters (of which admittedly there are many, particularly in NYC) would give credence to this dubious claim by Carroll, decades after the alleged incident, that Trump sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf dressing room (of all places.) Or take joy that Trump’s denial of her accusation was found to be defamation rather than protected speech.

I love TFP, particularly because it is usually so fair and accurate (and funny!) . Very disappointed that Oliver Wiseman engaged in cheap rhetoric to support his theme.

I don’t believe Trump was referring to himself, or any past behavior in particular when he spoke those words. More like what you are allowed to do if you’re rich and powerful. That’s how I understood it.

I don't think Oliver is trying to understand - just to castigate.

The number of pathetic ignorant losers desperately clinging to the Jew scapegoat to blame for all their life’s failures, who just can’t stand it when Jews are strong and successful , is truly astounding.

Kamala Harris is not "brat," but her embrace of the label IS cringe.

Kamala's supporters burned another American flag and chanted "Allahu Akhbar" today, just like the 9/11 hijackers did. Expect a lot more of this from these cretins if America pukes this glorified D.E.I. hire into the Oval Office.

For reasons that are all too common, and all too human, Biden can be forgiven for not recognizing that he was in no shape to run against Trump. But what about his advisers? What about Harris? What about the media? They all knew and kept their mouths shut. Had it not been for the debate, he would still be running for president.

Brat does not embody what I want in a POTUS: "that girl who is a little messy and maybe says dumb things sometimes, who feels herself but then also maybe has a breakdown but parties through it". Surprised Kamala's campaign is trying to capitalize on that.

I am a woman and I did not think that the RNC was leaning into men and masculinity, they were speaking to Americans and American values of freedom, truth and hope.

I’m going to do a forensic follow the money if no reporters are up to the task.

It’s inhumane what they’re doing to Biden;

& we are NOW all *aware* & morally obligated to do something rather than nothing.

Who thinks they can claim plausible deniability?

Now the American people are (ALSO) on display to one another & the politicians & the world. Is this who we are? If you have value or use we’ll use you until you are no longer of value to our vision & so you’re gone.

In this dark ugly “election” we will see what real Americans are made of, if they truly are their brother’s keeper.

Anyone of us could, will become vulnerable to the mercy or abuse when by disease or age we become dependent upon someone else. Think that through.

If you love Israel Bari and Nellie, then you will have to vote for Donald Trump. Any other decision is one that will loop back to the insanity we have had to stomach for a long time. Go ahead. Mail in your ballots holding your noses. As Jews, we cannot afford to put an airhead in the Oval Office. Rest assured: Kamala Harris is an airhead. All Jews who vote Democratic are deluding themselves. Read Sebald's Austerlitz if you want perspective.

Charlie whoever says Kamala Harris is ‘brat,’ the definition of which can be summed up as ‘entitled, irresponsible and kind of stupid.’ Is this really the new feminist ideal? That’s fucking hilarious, though it is Kamala Harris in a nutshell! It also logically explains the mindless support for unrestricted abortion, because ‘entitled, irresponsible and kind of stupid’ is likely to get you ‘accidentally’ pregnant. Are they trying to prove those old guys who didn’t think women should vote were right?

I feel like everyone is frustrated with the left leaning slant of the free press - and yet we still pay for it - how pitiful is it that conservatives have been so abused for so long that they are happy to pay for a substack which will continue to lie about or omit the truth - just because we are happy to be able to talk back in the comments. That is pathetic.

Communication through the comments is somewhat therapeutic. Most readers are of the same mindset and respect each other or at least know what can happen when you go on the attack, and refrain accordingly. I’m not sure what will ultimately happen with TFP. Just as much as I’m not sure what will ultimately to our country.

This column was too much in that direction for me, such as the swipe at Vance. Mostly I like TFP though, much good coverage and they don't need to be 100% in agreement w/my political takes.
