I'll just note that Palestinian Christians have long been fleeing the Levant, and they understand Israel to be just as responsible for everything going wrong as they do radical Islam. If TFP wants to be honest about all of this, they should talk with a variety of such folk, not just cherrypick from those that tell them what they want to hear.

BTW, at that Xitter link about the Druze people, the poster asks rhetorically (and triumphantly): "Will they still call it 'ethnic cleansing' if Israel annexes a village at the explicit request of its residents?" Obviously, no, since to voluntarily place yourself under the governance of another people cannot, by definition, be ethnic cleansing. That the poster doesn't seem to understand that such doesn't apply to Palestinians is baffling to me. I suppose I'm just one of those stubborn members of the "anti-Israel" crowd. (I'm not: I just think honesty is important.) Also, one can decide to side with the lesser of two evils. People do it all the time... then rationalize their decisions after the fact based on stubbornly held beliefs about the world.

In no way can the Palestinians EVER have been said to be voluntarily ruled by Israelis. The people who founded the State of Israel colonized their land, declared a state without their concession, then drove out whoever fought back. It's a founding injustice, just the same as the founding injustices of the United States. But let's all just keep blaming those nasty progressives for not being satisfied with how all of this had been dealt with. "Western civilization" is at stake after all. (Hint: It's long been dead since the Protestant revolution and everything that followed it.)

So just let the blood flow. Eventually one side will be completely wiped out and "peace" can reign undisturbed.

When do you believe Palestine was created and by whom?

How does a people "colonize" a land that has belonged to them for over 5000 years?

Have you ever read the OLD TESTAMENT? Who do you believe these people were? When and where do you believe the name of the land (and state) of Israel was established and by whom? Do you have any concept of HOW OLD this history is?

How can you study religion and not understand the timeline of humanity and where Jewish people have been within that timeline and why?

Palestine was never set up to be ruled by Israel. They were supposed to be ruled by The Palestinian National Authority, who abdicated their responsibility (for a lot of cash) to HAMAS - A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.

Do you know who comprises the CITIZENSHIP of Israel? Jews, Christians (at least 12 denominations) Muslim (mostly Sunni) and Druze - all equal under the law.

Please explain where "nasty progressives (whatever that means) fits into this picture.

The only person "cherry picking" seems to be you.

You think honesty is important, you say? How about some honesty about the "Palestinian people". When and why were they invented? (SPOILER: in 1964 to eliminate the Jewish State). If you were being "honest" you recognize that there was never an Arab Palestinian state - the original Palestinians were the Jews. There is no indigenous "Palestinian people" - They are Jordanians, Egyptians and I have met Saudis and Turks who call themselves Palestinians. Total fiction.

And as for "colonizing their land" - for a friar you are woefully ignorant of the Bible - have you ever read one? Do start with Genesis.

As for what is going on now in Syria, Israel can claim credit for Assad running to Russia and for the Syrian people being freed of that bloodthirsty dictator. We don't know what the future will bring for them. We have also wiped out most of the Syrian Army's weapons - including the chemical weapons - which could have been used not only against Israel but against the minority communities in Syria. Another excellent move by the IDF. We have also pretty much freed Lebanon from Hezbollah - but now the Lebanese people must finish the job.

It's no wonder the Syrian Druze want to be annexed into Israel. We Israelis love our Druze and would likely be open to it - but I'm sure the international community which cares nothing for them would likely oppose such a move.

Lastly, your lie about Christians in Israel - it's the only place they can actually live without being persecuted. Obviously, honesty is not your strong suit.
