I generally agree with the premise that an abundance of promiscuity is not the right path for most people, perhaps really all people. But I think we all need to be careful to not throw out the baby with the bath water. There needs to be a venue for an honest exploration of sex, intimacy and connection, freed from religious and/or government mandated moral guardrails. The sexual revolution isn’t / wasn’t just about unhinged, free love… that’s what the capitalist, playboy driven makeover of it told us. The really important part was more about divorcing society from the soul crushing shame, life destroying guilt, and societal excommunication that traditional religious mores forced on society, enabling us to be free to discover where are own appropriate guardrails are.
