She did not say that the family moved to Asia to escape such lunacy. She said "My daughter and SIL are currently raising [their children] in Asia to keep them away from this lunacy." I assumed this to mean that her daughter and SIL had been living in Asia for some time (most likely because one or both of them had a job there) and that this lunacy (and, I would think, all the CRT and other lunacy in today's US schools) was a reason that they had decided not to return to the US at this time. That seems perfectly reasonable to me. My husband's job took us to several countries. Most expat kids did quite well in US or international schools.
