That was a GREAT podcast, and explains why my high school students can't sound out non-sight words, let alone recognize root words, in advanced academic vocabary such as "photosynthesis".

However, that podcast and Lucy Calkin and Whole Language do not explain how or why Marxist, antisemitic propaganda has infiltrated K-12 schools. It's not because of Teachers Pay Teachers - teachers unions in Oakland and Portland are sharing FREE folders via Google Docs that offer a very one-sided look at the war in Gaza for example.

Rather, the problem is indoctrination at teachers' preparatory programs. I myself had an entire class in identity politics at Portland State University 20+ years ago, for example. And we read Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire and selected articles from the Rethinking Schools movement.
