When did it start, this placing of people in boxes? Was it marketers trying to sell something? Pollsters trying to bring order to numbers? Politicians trying to herd voters? The media love the ease of placing people in boxes. But it isn’t truthful. And then people fall into the same habit. They feel the need to think according to stereotype.
The “Zoomers” I know (and I don’t personally call them by that label) are each and every one of them an individual. What they share are the political times we are all living in.
The quote was: "A lot of people—mostly Boomers—like to say that Gen Z is doomed." It doesn't say all Boomers think alike, only that a lot of people have the stated belief, especially Boomers. I think that's true and there are times when I've felt that way. Watch a few man-on-the-street videos where young people have no idea of when World War II was or who fought in the Civil War. Pretty disheartening stuff. But fortunately that's not all young folks, many of whom are incredibly bright.
