Not a serious character for the role of Prime Minister. While it’s certainly going to be a female, it’s not going to be this female.

The UK Prime Minister should be a native of the UK. You know.... English, Scots, Welsh.

Outstanding! I pray for her success. She sounds like a women on a mission. She sounds like a leader with principles and integrity. A leader with a plan that will offend some in this era of pseudo-intellectuals who ignore natural law/reality. A focus on true free market capitalism that will break the bonds of bankers and bureaucrats who think they have all the answers. Again, if the UK gives her a chance I have no doubt of her success!

Perhaps this challenge to the Identitarians on the Left will get us back to discussing ideas once again. And I say this as a someone on the left. If they want to push against her, they are going to have to admit that it’s not a person’s identity that makes them right or wrong. They’re afraid of losing that rhetorical advantage so they’ll first try and say that this Nigerian woman somehow isn’t really black, which will backfire on them as plenty of black ppl hate these sort of politics.

Why is it we must be reminded of the vast freedom and opportunity we have in the West? The absolute best and most understanding citizens are those who make sacrifices to enjoy those freedoms and opportunities.

Yet those born into it would destroy the West in the name of some greater good financed by the very rich seeking complete control and power.

Having exceedingly poor in laws who we are going to make their lives better, I would ask those wanting to tear the system down; what have you ever done? Have you traveled to see true oppression or poverty? Have you consistently donated to greater good causes? Have you ever served in the name of protecting the freedom and opportunity you say you hate?

I would suggest you listen to those who have been there and paid the price. For me Kemi reflects the knowledge and experience you should seek.

So stop being Wankers and learn when you have it good. Or maybe leave those who appreciate the current system and you head off to where it's better. Oh, good luck with that!

Hear, hear! Kemi is a breath of fresh air, and I say this as an erstwhile Labour voter.

The author compares her to Obama? The ONLY thing that they have in common is the color of their skin! Obama is a child of privilege from the word "GO", whereas Badenoch actually lived in poverty conditions in a foreign country. The fact that Thomas Sowell is a hero of hers says volumes.

She seems to have earned a chance to prove herself as a national leader and I hope that Britons give her the opportunity.

She sounds great and like our hopeful future in every way. But, I will call out her focus on

"the best way for those in power to approach the trans debate. " and

"A woman who doesn’t even hold a cabinet position has become the unequivocal star of the Tory Party.

How this happened began with—what else?—the culture war. “What we are against is the teaching of contested political ideas as if they are accepted fact,”

Like, how does his donning a scarf mean we all agree John/"Jennifer" Pritzker *is* female and we change our laws to play pretend and enshrine the cult religion of Gender Identity Ideology? It is damaging our youth and our society as a whole.

Badenoch should get together with the Senegalese Magette Wade - another African who understands that the western tradition is for everyone - white, black, brown, male , female, etc.

Nigerians have done extremely well in the United States, with a median income far exceeding that of native white people. And it seems that they're very good citizens in the UK as well. I wish her the best.

From what I read in this piece I kinda smell that I strongly disagree with a lot of her conservative views, but anyway: "Welcome to the debate, Kemi!"

I read many a newspaper column by Thomas Sowell in the past, and was not whelmed, let alone overwhelmed. But, I'm willing to tackle him afresh, since perspective change, both mine and his. Can any of you recommend a book of his that I should read to capture his essence?

For today’s world, I recommend Vision of the Anointed. He wrote it in 1997 or 1998, amazingly predicts exactly what we see today. But I’m afraid you will be disappointed if you are looking for a change in his perspective. He was right in his original perspective.

Thanks for this, Heyjude, I'll give it a try. I'm not looking for a change in his perspective as much as that my perspective may have changed since the Nineties, and I want to see if I like his theories better than I did back in the day. I only read his newspaper work, not any of his books, and that might make a significant difference.
