I read many a newspaper column by Thomas Sowell in the past, and was not whelmed, let alone overwhelmed. But, I'm willing to tackle him afresh, since perspective change, both mine and his. Can any of you recommend a book of his that I should read to capture his essence?

For today’s world, I recommend Vision of the Anointed. He wrote it in 1997 or 1998, amazingly predicts exactly what we see today. But I’m afraid you will be disappointed if you are looking for a change in his perspective. He was right in his original perspective.
Thanks for this, Heyjude, I'll give it a try. I'm not looking for a change in his perspective as much as that my perspective may have changed since the Nineties, and I want to see if I like his theories better than I did back in the day. I only read his newspaper work, not any of his books, and that might make a significant difference.

Try an earlier book of his that gives insight into his views: Knowledge & Decisions.
Thanks, Stuart, much obliged.
