Very pertinent, nice to read on the morning work way.

I would have been more interested in "Swing States Debate" if they had interviewed ordinary citizens. Many of the people on the panel have professional experience and agendas that colored their opinions. Or call it what it was - a panel of people who have skin in the game.

In 1933 who could have named anyone in Germany who had done more for the German economy than the Krupps and the Thyssens? There is no doubt that Musk, like them, and like his other would be American oligarchs under our very own Putin, has done wonders for his nation's economy. Too bad he's also backing the guy who Bob Woodward exposed today even more than we already knew to be Putin's lapdog. In other words, like the Krupps and the Thyssens with Hitler, it doesn't matter how rich your are and how much you've done for your nation's economy if you utterly betray your country to put a Fuhrer in power to destroy the nation's democracy and make you richer than ever.

That ridiculous Putin story needs to be put to rest. How much disinformation are you will be absorb?? Do you seriously think it's true just because Woodward says so?? His allegiences are clear

Of course Bob Woodward has been a CIA agent since he got out of the Navy as an intelligence officer.

Yep, Trump is Hitler. I've never heard that before.

Oh please! After the Fauci covid oligarchy, the Afghanistan debacle that Biden insisted on, the border drug lords and sex traffickers to shore up waning Democratic support, the build back better that built nothing for 3 trillion, the Nazi overreach is definitely on the Left.

I may not want to have a beer with the guy, but through SpaceX, Tesla, and his satellites, he has done some great things for the country and the world. There is a chance he may do another great thing enabling people who have no use of their limbs to be able to give them far more independence.. My one fear is he may be believing his own press and his arrogance may be clouding his judgement and hurting his reputation.

My comment was more a poke at those who are hell bent on restricting immigration, especially from people from non-European countries like South Africa. Musk had no credentials that would indicate his future credentials. And while he is one of a kink, look through the list of valedictorians of urban high schools. In Boston I have been struck by how few have European/American sounding names. Most sound like they come from some sh…..ole country.

Yesterday I said CBS had balls of butter for what it did to its reporter. Today that changes to balls of Silly Putty. Morons.

How in the world can anyone in their right mind call the Cackler on a 'news blitz'. She is on a liberal show binder. The View, we know who watches that, fat ass liberal women who were going to vote for the Cackler anyway, Colbert has-been Late night guy who was only funny when mocking Papa Bear Bill O'Reilly. Now nobody watches his late night snoozer any more except for liberals needing a late night fix, and some stupid podcast to lock up the Dykes, which were always going to vote for Lyin' Biden, now they get his protege. This is the problem withe the Media, someone - likely her PR gal - calls it a 'News Blitz' and everyone repeats the lie thinking we're too stupid to notice. Wise up Kearns! Until the Cackler does a Fox evening show or Bill O'Reilly she is just singing to her media choir! BR

Tell ya what, Bob: When I see Trump go on "Call Me Daddy," the second-largest podcast in America, I'll push for Harris to do an interview on Fox.

Expand full comment

Seriously Shane? Are you really saying going on "Call Me Daddy" or "The View" or any other tongue bath/bootlicking medium is a serious attempt to explain her positions? I'd love to see her on Megyn Kelly, I would (almost) feel sorry for her. Did you see her the other day when the teleprompter quit? She couldn't string two sentences together.

Heavens no, Marcia. I just want Trump to go on Call Me Daddy because it will make me laugh, which I need more of in these grim days of hurricanes and elections.

In all seriousness, though, I'd like to see Trump go on The View and Harris go on Megyn Kelly and watch how each of them handles the artillery.

The FFP doesn’t seem to be getting the number of comments that they used to. Lack of interest by readers? Less readers due to cancellation of subscriptions?

Expand full comment

Trump didn't do 60 Minutes because they fact check in real time. His VP nominee objected to fact checking at his debate. Seems odd. Why doesn't the FP do a hard-hitting piece on why the Republican Party's candidates object to fact checking?

Expand full comment

1. they only fact check on one side AND their fact checks are incorrect

2. they allow the other side to lie with impunity

what don't you understand???

Expand full comment

What Vance objected to was the changing of the rules mid-debate (for him only) and the fact-checkers being full of sh*t. I can't believe anyone would defend CBS or their so-called moderators. National Review had a great article on the general ineptitude of what passes for media “fact-checking."

Expand full comment

If they fact check in real time with unbiased fact checkers Trump would be king of the legacy media. Unfortunately lie after lie on Charlottesville, Russiagate, January Pelosigate., inflation, Afghanistan, October 7th, debt vote buying after 3 trillion paying off Dem billionaires — how corrupt and inept can Dems be?? Pretty corrupt and inept.

Good grief. What they object to is fact checking one side and one side only. Get a grip.

Donald Trump didn’t do 60 Minutes because they wouldn’t apologize for their egregious lies 4 years ago when they said he was lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop being real. They said no it wasn’t.

But it was. As everyone now knows.

Now I’ve fact checked you in real time.

“However much Joe Biden—and millions of other Democrats—might dislike Musk, can you name anyone since Steve Jobs who has done more for the country’s economy than him?”

This is the ubiquitous broken mindset that the media promulgates and young people are erroneously stuck on. There are three actors: producers, looters and moochers. Musk is the very top producer and producers in general provide all the additive value to the economy, society and the world.

Looters extract from the value of the producers. Looters hand unearned gifts to the moochers for their love and support to protect their looting ways.

Democrats tend to be looters. They don't produce added value, they exploit what is already there to extract from it. Bezos does not add value, he extracts from traditional retail. Zuckerberg does not add value, he extracts from traditional advertising as do the owners and founders of Google. Youtube extracts from existing video entertainment. Musk is the only of the top billionaires that is creating new products and services that grow our GDP and add value to the economy, society and the world.

Looters like Biden and his Democrat cabal, even though they are completely reliant on them, are resentful of producers because they, the Democrat cabal members, lack the right stuff to do what Musk has done and can do. The same goes for the guy with a high school education that ends up with a successful electrical contactor business... those Democrat cabal members really dislike the inference that they are less valuable. Democrats are the educated elite that stayed in school longer because of natural risk aversion and aversion to any hard physical work, and a penchant for rent-seeking other than building their own productive enterprise.

Musk is the biggest mirror reflecting their inadequacies and they hate him for it.

The slippery slope: the taxpayers paid employees to organize our “stuff” in person on paper. Then it started getting digitized, compressed, broken into pieces, tagged & stored & now we continue paying, for? Quite a bit- every form of ‘refuge’ has its price, even if it all started out in good faith.

But who actually owns what is already actually ours? Yes it’s a “highway “ but everything’s <going , almost is> on line, in the “clouds” - in plain sight (ie, no actual paywall).

Even if y o u opted out — “they already decided”… remember ex-nanny of Hunter not _a_dr Jill told us all about who decides the future. It went up digitally right after the debate, in late June, cover of Vogue - dropped paywall for full article & like 4K comments- no subscription required.

It’s a business model & it’s what lots of online businesses do- like the FP.

On Gender medication, cannot call it care, have a few simple thoughts on the subject.

at 21, one may buy alcohol, cannabis, and other adult drugs.

at 18, one may vote, buy a gun, get a credit card, and start getting into debt via college loans

at 16 one can get a permit and depending on the state, maybe a driver’s license.

Why are we allowing children to decide their fate? Apparently, from studies done in Europe, 5 out of every 6 children with gender dysphoria, end up either bisexual, gay, or lesbian.

Given the above should we at least start with talk therapy before providing drugs/medication, and wait further before surgery?

That’s my view. Once 18, they are considered adults and should be allowed to be as wise or as foolish as any other adults.

Expand full comment

My view, too. We impose age restrictions on minors because they don't have the brain development or life experience yet to prevent catastrophic decision-making. Surgery that cannot be reversed should carry age restrictions. Once they're 18, they can have all the gender surgery they want. Until then, society needs to protect them from it.
