Yeah, I was afraid Dems would do this: Stick to their denial guns and keep losing the electorate and the culture. They are just hemorrhaging voters across the racial, age and gender divides. I think the problem is that they've at this point simply invested too much emotional work into their lies, gaslighting and narrative; pride refuses to let them admit they were wrong, say they fucked up, and change. This morning, I saw my first Substack post that claimed Elon helped Trump "cheat" and win the election illegally. Yeah. We're goin down that road on the Left now. Why not? If Trump can lie in 2020, the Left can lie now. Clearly the Left no longer believes in democracy. Pack the court, lie about Biden, remove a primary, lie in media, etc. They have lost all credibility. They've gone down every other road: Racism, sexism, paternalism, yellow journalism, etc. So why not this?
totally agree. The democrats of yesterday are the republicans of today. The dems of today are unhinged leftists. Ruy can write whatever he wants but I don't see how or why the democratic party needs to be resurrected, it's just got a new name now, IMHO.
