I’m not persecuted, mainly because the people trying (like you) have failed.

I have no desire to cover up anything; “porn addiction” is a diversion from societal failures that actually destroy relationships. There are problems in education, in employment, in the justice system, in the media, etc. Considering people whose lives have been destroyed as “porn addicts” is demeaning to their actual struggles.

This is the most disgustingly leftist victimhood narrative I have seen in a long time. Are you going to set up a porn distribution center so that addicts can use safely, like "harm reduction" sites in San Fran handing out clean needles to shoot up with? Denying porn's effects on the brain is like denying cocaine's effects on your brain. Sure, it stems out of emotional and psychological problems but denying addiction is evil and disgusting.

Good luck with whatever porn scam you're running, I hope the money you get out of stealing money from lonely males is enough to make up for the lives you want to ruin.

I'm not running any porn scam, but I certainly support anyone who makes the decision to utilize pornography (which is largely free) to either supplement or replace a relationship situation that does not meet their needs.

And I am ideologically left-leaning, but not "woke", which leaves me in a position to see the ideological derangement which has affected women more than men and has had disastrous effects on normal human relationships.

I don't blame anyone who wants to opt out. We're all victims of the prevailing ideology, and it's up to individuals to resist it in order to live a better life.

If you're denying addiction exists then you are "woke" by definition. You are part of the same reality-denying school as jail abolitionists and Antifa. The fact that your take is gentrified to "porn addiction doesn't exist" does not absolve you of your refusal to acknowledge reality.

If anyone wants to opt out, then they can. Just like the meth addicts in San Francisco opt out by shooting up in their tents and crapping in the streets. But since they're using a synthetic alternative to self respect then we don't need to hold them accountable for their actions, it was obviously the evil feminists that drove them insane and forced them to shoot up.

This is the average leftist: nothing is ever our fault, we're just bystanders in our own lives and everything can be attributed to someone else victimizing us. Got it.

Addiction exists. Porn addiction does not. Not everything is an addiction.

It is common for social conservatives to attempt to demonize forms of social progress that reduce their privilege.

The addicts in San Fransisco are not being benefited by policies that infantilize them, but American drug policy is largely the opposite of what more left-leaning countries have done.

Porn addiction is a known behavior that is being studied as a medical condition: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4600144/

I understand that this stuff is devastating to accept but you and Rob's refusal to face this does not make the reality go away. And it doesn't absolve you of your pimp behavior or how Rob thinks that he can use this shit as a cudgel to get women to have sex with unsuitable men. I am not the right person to break this to you but women refusing to settle to addicts does not reduce our privilege; it expands it because we don't have manbabies to care for once we reject the "best and brightest" that are too fragile to interact with anything more complicated than VR.

Left leaning countries like Europe have completely different drug policies than ours. We are still suffering the hangover from Nancy Reagan's farcical attempts at stopping the CIA induced crack epidemic.

It's not devastating; simply incorrect. There is no formal pornography addiction or similar diagnosis under DSM or ICD criteria. There are some fairly fringey ideologues pushing this in the research world, that's all.

Europe is not a country.

The thing that I would tell any young man here is that sexual satisfaction is not something that is "earned" nor is your ability to get it from another person reflective of your character or value as a human being. You should do whatever feels best for you; if you can find a really good relationship, take it. But a good relationship means someone who treats you with respect and makes you better. Someone who expresses a hatred of men, or masculinity, or male sexuality is not a good relationship candidate.

And for those men who can't find a suitable relationship (which is many; there is a serious shortage of marriageable women in the U.S.), there's no shame in doing whatever you need to do, including but by no means limited to pornography, to help you feel balanced and fulfilled in your life. Conversely, you shouldn't sacrifice your principles to get laid, and you shouldn't do favors for people who haven't earned them.

Whether or not something is in DSM or ICD is not an indicator of its truth. Homosexuality was a mental illness in the DSM for years before it was finally removed when the medical establishment admitted sexual orientations are not a sickness. Porn provoking overstimulation of the dopamine receptors in a manner similar to addictive drugs is a documented fact; it becomes an addiction.

If you want to get specific on country's then sure, lets talk about the Netherlands and Portugal.

Porn does not make men feel fulfilled; I watched it destroy my relationships in real time, including watching a boyfriend break down into tears when I asked him if we could have sex and he admitted that he didn't want to have sex with me because I wasn't as good as porn. He wasn't balanced or fulfilled, it didn't make his life better, he chose it over me and then screamed at and berated me when I left him because he was a shitty partner. Porn is like anything else for broken people, they become addicted because they can't or won't confront their problems. Once it becomes a crutch, it's over. This wasn't a one off either, this happened multiple times to me and my friends. And yet we are being lectured about how we're terrible people for refusing to "settle" for these shitty relationships where our intimate partners ignore us days at a time so they can watch hentai. Give me a fucking break.

It's not an accident that functional males who can form relationships with others don't use porn.

Functional males who can form relationships with others use lots of pornography, masturbate, use sex workers, and have multiple partners. Sexuality has never been constrained to committed pair relationships, nor is there any reason it needs to be. The effort to control others' sexual behavior is not new, and it easily becomes abusive. Any man who define as being successful more likely than not has consumed a significant amount of pornographic content.

Dopamine is not a substance put in one's brain by fiendish pornographers, it's simply a normal part of human physiology which is instrumental to normal behavior. Non-pornographic sexuality, food, and lots of other totally normal things utilize this totally normal physiology. Addictive disorders, by definition, cause deficits in functioning and life satisfaction. Given the lack of any documented causal link between porn use and harm to the user, the utter ubiquity of porn use by normal healthy people with no dysfunction, and the plethora of known alternative explanations for various maladies, there is no basis to conclude that one person's anecdote, whether true or not, constitutes the discovery of a new disease.

Lots of people have strong opinions about, say, video games causing violence, or rock and roll destroying society, or flappers, or whatever it was before that. Every new generation sees problems that have been around forever and incorrectly attributes them to some convenient new cause that creates a simple, pleasing narrative for the observer. A smart intellectual conservative sees the unchanging nature of humanity, notes the mistakes that have been made before, and tries not to repeat them.

And as soon as it got personal, you retreat into platitudes and more fakery. Absolutely anything to avoid having to confront the consequences of the behavior you endorse. Although I shouldn't be surprised that you would try to put "sex workers" - aka sex trafficking victims who are being pimped by modern slave owners - in the same category as video games or food. Lefties are all the same, you can only excuse criminal behavior and sanction international kidnapping and rape because you need to get off.

You are part of the system that ruins lives and destroys people. But at least you'll have VR to comfort you.
