In the legal biz, lawyers often create evidence for whatever narrative they want to sell to a jury by hiring an "expert witness" - someone with suitable credentials willing to spin bits of fact and fantasy (as needed) into whatever tale he's paid to present. Behind closed-doors lawyers refer to such "experts" by another name for prostitute (the w is silent).

Steele was hired by Team Clinton for the same purpose in the context of a Presidential Campaign. Steele wasn't duped. Clinton wasn't duped. The FBI wasn't duped. (Doubtful the Media was duped - except to the extent they are willing to adopt as true, unquestioningly, anything that hurts Trump.)

The Steele dossier was supposed to be a Dirty Trick ... an October Surprise ... a diversion of attention away from Hillary's email server scandal. Why not paint Trump as a Putin stooge. (Could be believable -- Trump took that beauty pageant to Moscow, probably wants a hotel there, he likes tough-guys.) Hire an "expert" ... a professional spy ... get an "intelligence report" ... it doesn't have to stand-up to scrutiny ... just damage Trump now ... it'll all be forgotten once Hillary wins.

Ummm. No. They all still believe it because BELIEVE is at the core because the Democrats are not currently a political party they are a religious entity. This is where the Free Press loses me. They are still pretending there is some logic driven portion of the Left. There isn’t. Russia Russia Russia. Charlottesville. All Republicans are Racists. Jan 6. It’s like Stations of the Cross fir them.

Clinton is out again today doing the Russia Russia Russia thing but it doesn’t m

We are already a Banana Republic. Voting season is already on us. The mail in ballots are already going out and in swing states with a Democrat Secretary of State they will keep on counting until the Democrats win. All the apocalyptic language about the climate, about Trump, about Democracy they believe it the way any religious person believes. Michael Schellenberger explains it well.

People just don’t get it.

It was Hilary’s turn.

2016 was Hilary Clinton’s turn to be president.

She waited.

She did the turn in the Senate where she voted to allow Bush II/Cheney to invade Iraq.

She endured the Obama humiliation in 2008.

She did the turn at State where she converted Libya and Yemen into open slave states in order to shine up her anti-terror bonafides.

Then Trumpster ambles up and cuts the line.

Gosh. When some carnival barker steals your spot in line, anything goes right?

Now she’s really pissed at the First Amendment. Damn free speech thwarting her at every turn.

Where’s the justice?

Hey, maybe Kamala will implode and Hil Clinton will have to pinch hit?

What a cinderella story.

Kamala is Joe's revenge on Obama and Pelosi for forcing him out. They wanted Hillary or Michelle Obama but Joe scuttled them by throwing his full support behind unelectable Kamala. So, they'll still put on the show and try to calculate whether or not they can steal the election without being put in prison, but frankly nobody would buy it. Despite the polls hawked by the media, who don't sell ad time unless the election's close, Trump's going to win in a landslide. Yesterday's appellate hearing on his ludicrous 469 million dollar fine did not go well for Letitia James. It began with a vigorous defense of the charges, segued into a fruitless search for another case in the history of the United States where someone was prosecuted for fraud when the victim themselves said they were not defrauded and ended in a closing statement of excuses as to why they shouldn't be sanctioned for malicious prosecution and obvious election interference. Even in New York it seems, there are judges that take their oaths and responsibilities seriously.

“Kamala is Joe's revenge”

Interesting. Biden’s recent repeated praise for Florida’s Ron Desantis’s handling of prep for hurricane occurring alongside Harris’s whining into media regarding DeSantis refusing her calls kinda supports your assertion.

I’m no Doc but Biden’s mental slippage has been obvious to me since his 2020 basement campaign. But that doesn’t mean he’s slipping equally in all facets. I would say his capacity for playing cut throat politics and settling scores remains well intact.

Do you suppose he’ll pardon his son Cracky Biden and maybe even himself post Nov 6?

I don't doubt for an instant that he'll pardon Hunter. This is the end of his career and on November 6 all bets are off. I think he was playing for a commutation instead to technically keep his word, but all of the sentencing won't be done in time.

Can't this guy be prosecuted for libel, or something? Why is he still roaming free, able to continue publishing nonsense? Even John Stuart Mill thought libel should be vigorously prosecuted: https://www.compactmag.com/article/how-libel-kills-free-speech/. It's a crime against the common good, not just the specific persons targeted.

This is a prime example not holding accountable public figures -- or at least publicly significant figures -- who fail.

You can still find a fair number of lefties e.g. on Twixxer, who insist that the Russian collusion conspiracy theory was true. I've even seen 'em crop up in this comments section before.

It's a study in human irrationality. Once you've publicly and passionately said that something is true, it's difficult, for psychological and social reasons, to admit error. And, of course, if you've built your life around it, it's even more difficult. There are those who still insist that Saddam had WMDs. And imagine that you'd transed yourself or, worse, your child... Or, in the case of the humanities and social science "scholars" who cooked up gender pseudoscience, and the medical personnel who implemented it, other people's children... Most people aren't intellectually honest enough to admit that kind of error.

Steele is one of a handful of people in the last 10 years or so who had a disastrous impact on American society through the sheer telling of known lies.

Christopher Steele, Anthony Fauci, and Robin DeAngelo are unquestionably the top three.

Hey Eli... Why not write another story called "The Journalists Who Lie to Us"?

You could start by interviewing your execrable boss!

By the way... tell Bari I sincerely apologize for the "feces" comment that got me banned for 30days. I have learned my lesson. I should have used the words "simian" and "excrement" instead!

The Democratic Party Rehabilitation Project... DELENDA EST!

I did not need to subscribe to TFP to know Steele is a fool. It is blatantly obvious since I first heard Steele’s name. His stories are ridiculous and make no sense (do not hold together).

So many say they can't vote for Trump because of Jan 6 or the not acknowledge the loss election, but how can we vote Dem with this lie . Which is worse ? They kind of cancel each other out , is how I look at it .

The problem is the laptop, particularly problematic with the e-mails to Hunter from Joe on Joe's secret account. For the Russian disinformation scam to be the least bit credible, we have to believe that Hunter didn't remember his laptop or dropping it off at the shop and that Joe didn't recognize his own communications to his son. If you don't buy that, then Adam Schiff abused his office and seat on the intelligence committee to suppress a legitimate news story by sending threatening letters to social media companies and crafting a knowingly false Russian disinformation letter about it and recruiting a bunch of retired, left-wing intelligence officials to sign off on it. Which would be criminal election interference and with the polling showing that Joe lost 5 swing states if the voters had known it was legitimate, it makes Joe an illegitimate President. If you want to take a few more steps down that road, it makes the Jan 6 protesters the actual defenders of our democracy.

The laptop is Hunters and the shit on it has mostly been confirmed but so what it won't ever change the last 4 years and no one is really going to take it any further . Yes it could have changed things but it didn't and the rest is the MSM going to hell but still 1/2 or maybe less think MSM is still good and that needs to change . But the owners of MSM are still in charge and that war will take awhile to play out . To many things to focus on is the biggest problems we face , things need to focus on 1-2 things at a time here not 20-30 .

In 1968 I heard a televised excerpt of a speech by a U.S. senator saying that Europe needed to start paying its “fair share” for its own defense. I have since learned that you could have identified the speech as lip flapping nonsense because of the inexact phrase “fair share”, which means everything and nothing, all at the same time.

Over the years politicians of all parties and ideologies have complained about how U.S. made goods are being treated unfairly by European and Asian countries. And the U.S. should “push back” regarding the unfair treatment. The speech itself should have told us that the politician was in the middle of a deal to move jobs offshore or to give huge tax breaks to companies for moving assembly plants to the U.S. as a brief stop on their way to Mexico.

Donald Trump made the same kinds of speeches. Except they were more specific, and he meant every word of it.

That is the reason the Europeans, the Brits and the Chinese really hate Donald Trump. He simply put definition and action to the phrase “fair share”.

When this story broke I checked the public records at Companies House in the UK to see where Steele was a Director. In under 30 seconds I found that he worked out of a serviced office near Victoria Station in a fairly ordinary building and that his company had annual revenues under £100,000 a year. Hardly the top-flight operative that he claimed to be.

If he was any good, he would have been at Hakluyt - that's where real former spies go to cash in.
