To claim that you have shed TDS may be true in the context of your Upper West Side neighborhood.

Unsolicited advice:

Try some of that on the ground experience that you so value in your writers.

Bethlehem PA is a 1:45 min drive from West 96th Street.

Go see how globalization hollowed out middle class America.

Visit the National Museum of industrial history- a Smithsonian. Open until 5pm today. 10-5 weekends. Talk to the volunteers about their careers and families.

Not about who they voted for, but about their lives, what they care about, what they worry about.

(Triangulate those with the actual statements and actions taken by the two Presidential candidates and the actual voting results.)

Guaranteed eye opener.

Lunch at Sibris Restaurant.

Slow drive up and down the hills of the city.

Still time to be back in your enclave by NY dinner time.

Not even a full day rental car.

It might not change your mind but I am pretty sure it will help you better understand why millions of other voters did.
