My go to parenting book and the gift I give all new parents (can I send you a copy please?) is "The Blessings of a Skinned Knee" by Wendy Mogel, PhD. Can't recommend all Dr. Mogel's books enough - she is a treasure chest of wonderful advice with a humorous touch.
