I have to wonder if the approach to tariffs had to be so broad brush, ALL at once. Trump has decided that tariffs are good, but nothing is all good, most everything is partly good but also has downsides. The uncertainty caused by his approach leaves the entire world of business without a clear read on where things will end up, and not having a clear view creates caution, fear. What would have been wrong with taking it a piece at a time and then you could cushion the uncertainty, AND you could see how it was working. I’m an imperfect Republican, meaning I am critical of my own side when I feel they have missed the boat. I think this is going to end badly. And I think it is very possible conservatives will lose the midterms.

It should bother everyone that our medical supplies and most of our medicine comes from the same country that gave the world covid.

Good grief, Bari - Lloyd is only ever wanting to hang with the cool kids on the left. You can't trust a word he says. Remember, this is the same weasel who refused to agree to mark credit default swaps to market (AFTER massive defaults of MBS) until Goldman's traders had a chance to get on the "correct" side of that trade late in 2008 (all very well depicted in the movie "The Big Short").

I am with Batya. I witnessed for 30 years deteriorating state of our industry and its gradually but with constant acceleration going away and fall of the communities. If Democrats stop their hysterical axes of resistance and circle of fire. there would not be need for such rapid development, but we know convincing, appeal to reality, following the courts order does not work with the Democratic party irrational approach to the current situation because for them the people of USA are of no importance, only the narrative and Lloyd is one narrating. I care about economy not Wall Street, which is not the Economy

Given how embarrassed Bari must be by now to have even done this podcast with a Leftist Billionaire like Blankfein who only cares about himself, probably not.

Turns out we now have negative Democrats and positive Republicans with a few of both on the edge due to tariffs. When are the Democrats going to buck up, find a new course of action, and stop reacting to everything Trump does?

Democrats have no economic plan. Their plan is the status quo, create more government jobs, and tax the hell out of the nation. We’ve all had enough of it.

So very appreciative of you posting different views on the same topic. I have wanted a source that gives various opinions and I decide for myself. Please don’t drift one way or the other. Thank you!

I wonder why Goldman S___ doesn't bring up the Fed's 3/4 rate cut to goose the economy during the Harris campaign with no evidence. And, now pontificate with nothing while the economy deteriorated since as predicted.

Trump has a long, long hill to climb.

So Naill.....when the doom prediction by you is proved to be wrong...which rock will you hide under. You political inteelectect types (and politicians who got us here in the first place) make me sick. You are actually respected for all your "knowledge"? Easy to do when all you do is guess, predict, estimate and the like and hope for a good/bad outcome. .

Ferguson is a lifetime gloom and doomer. I don't know why anyone cares what he thinks or says. He has not been right about anything. I always say, if you are reasonably smart, as in the 50th percentile, and have the resources to stay in school long enough, anyone can get a PhD. He does not seem very insightful to me.

And will you hide under a rock if we really do enter into a recession? And these tariffs do more harm than good? Or will you admit that you were wrong in supporting this?

It goes both ways.

No need. You see I don't parade around as an expert. We have what we have today because of what we had yesterday. Unfortunately there is no gray area anymore. The pendulum swings to the right and holds and then after the election it swings to the left and holds. The clock doesn't run that way. Time seems to linger in 4 year chunks. There could be middle ground, but there is zero effort by our illustrious political leaders to adopt the art of give and take.

Has everyone already forgotten that when COVID first hit our healthcare workers quickly ran out of masks because our owners of capital had moved manufacturing to China.

The wake up call for me was March 2020- the COVID pandemic. China cut off all essential goods, which was devastating for all, but especially Healthcare Workers like me. No medical supplies, PPE, masks, ventilators, pharmaceutical drugs, testing kits, shortages of all. They held us hostage. Since March 2020, I have been buying Made in USA. I do Not buy Made in China. I very rarely buy Made in Vietnam/Cambodia/Indonesia/Malaysia due to CCP-run factories. I usually buy Made in USA. Also Made in Canada, EU, Japan, & other Developed Nations which are US Allies. I read all labels. If buying online, requires research to find Country of Origin. I would love for Trump to mandate that Amazon products clearly list Country of Origin. If it is not listed, I do not buy.
