From a CBS story on the Crowder video and Varma's termination...

"Varma's admission came after a heavily edited video was posted by conservative podcaster Steven Crowder."

"In other news, after a lengthy recorded interview, which Crowder edited heavily, Lee Harvey Oswald admitted he shot JFK."

Do these media idiots recognize how stupid they are? It's probably worse, they think you are even dumber?

Several references to Axios in this edition. Hmm…

According to a 2020 Knight Foundation study, Axios is generally read by a moderate audience, leaning slightly toward the left. Ground News, AllSides, and Media Bias/Fact Check, have all rated Axios as having a "lean left" bias.

Goodness, I made a comment last week about the distaste of the FP staff for Trump, and now there is the article about his dearth of rallies in 2024 because of his age. He’s done 75% more than Kamala after being shot at two times!

Bari, you started a great thing, but now it is not unbiased. Please help it get back to center.

They'll be asking that question about the United States soon enough if we don't change course.

But of course you know what their answer will be: ‘it is unfortunate for those “alleged” women, but if this is true, it is the fault of Israel and other countries and their sanctions against them.’ There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Apparently, Maggie Thatcher had it right. They ran out of other peoples money.

Bari, the other FP opinion columnists and TFP in general is made up of the left (that had their woke membership cards revoked and have been cancelled) and a smidgen of the center left. If you look closely, when TFP criticizes democrats it’s lighthearted and with humor. When TFP criticizes republicans, it’s like the Melania Trump article, full of exaggerated and dramatic words and unsubstantiated opinion stories meant to denigrate the focus of the subject.

As I’ve commented before, TFP is better than reading the NYT (a very low bar) but TFP is a watered down version of the same. Bari has managed to convince her readers (me included when I subscribed) that she would be unbiased and speak truth no matter what. Instead she has built a more underhanded and subtle left wing biased media company.

Where you see her true beliefs is when she writes about Israel and her Jewish faith. Then she’s all facts and piss and vinegar. It’s because it hits close to home for her. If she truly was unbiased, we’d get that same attitude with all the crap democrats pull.

Want to know what someone really thinks: don’t listen to what they say, watch what they do.

Agreed. Unsubscribed as well. Previously there had been a fairly good natured ribbing of both sides. That started changing slightly with the addition of Wiseman, a recent, now replaced, stand-in for Nellie at TGIF, and freelance authors who share a brain. More recently that drift accelerated. This place is borderline unrecognizable now. I understand Bari has a business to run and cannot be the sole content creator. But sacrificing the center for the left was intentional. Terribly sad to be honest. It was a good, though brief, run.

And to think Michelle Obama and Oprah and Amal Clooney have said NOTHING about the atrocities; the rapes and sexual violence from 10/7 AND now we see this! And we hear people like Kamala saying protestors who are PRO-TERRORIST have a point and Biden echo those same sentiments....standing up for these barbarians.....so disgraceful! They claim to care about women and children!!!! And PS- this isn't just happening to women and children! Men too! Any religion that says you can marry off a 9 yr old is beyond messed up! demonic is an understatement....

I reiterate that anyone caring about the teacher’s plight should not settle for a funding effort for her. That will not prevent the ideologues running the school from continuing their behavior. Financial and social pressure are needed. Parents of present students boycotting and protesting, paying tuition to an escrow account, discouraging donors, pressuring the governing board, are some suggestions.

John Nance Gardner likened the office of the Vice President to “a bucket of warm piss.”

Harris was either the dim-wit, incompetent VP the WSJ, Fox, and even MSM presented her as—so definitely was not involved in setting policy—or she simply did her job to represent the Biden Administration well. Can’t be both now she’s the Democratic presidential candidate.

Expand full comment

It is clear that there is little reason for Americans to like Trump or Harris - both are sub-par choices for the presidency.

Many Americans are voting for their choice of the to based on fear or dislike.

Trump is disliked because of his boorishness and brashness, Harris is disliked because she is a second rate shoe-in.

Trump is feared because he will likely break the Democrat progressive’s hold over much of America’s institutional power.

Harris is feared because she will further consolidate and increase that hold.

More to the point, Americans will be voting for or against a man who will attempt to change who rules their country or a woman who will attempt to ensure who rules their country will not be changed.

America is currently on a leftward trajectory - Trump’s foot will be on the brake pedal while Harris, encouraged by the Democrat progressives, will keep hers firmly planted on the accelerator.

Trump is doing fewer rallies this year than in his previous presidential runs. According to Axios, he held 72 rallies between June and September of 2016, compared to 24 in that period this cycle. “People in Trump’s camp” told Axios that the 78-year-old’s age is a factor, with the former president more inclined to spend time at Mar-a-Lago.

Or maybe it's also because he has had two assassination attempts on his life.

The so-called “new” NBC poll was delayed until it could be quoted like people like Wiseman. It is known skewed Democrat. The better regarded NYT/Siena poll from same time period shows them tied. The better regarded Rasmussen (though skewing R) has Trump two points ahead. In any case it is the battleground states like Penn which matter, or Wiseman might compare same polls to Biden and Hillary at this point in campaigns.

National polls are worthless, skewed toward large, democrat population centers. One can only admire the founders’ foresight by having the winning candidate need a majority of electoral votes. That is one of the reasons democrats say the Constitution is no longer useful.

Beauty is often in the eye of the beholder. What I mean to say, is the question of ‘qualified’ is very equivocal. Often it is a subjective, value-laden conclusion.

I appreciate your opinion of Mr Trump, and it is shared by many others. I hope you appreciate my opinion, that is not consistent with yours.

Until there is a valid measure, we are just left to disagree.
