Walsh and Shapiro are not doting on Putin when they praise the interview. Get real

Love the sneak previewing of the Coddling documentary! Looking forward to it.

And LOL re the right-wing snowflakes here annoyed TFP is calling out their authoritarianism, mindless cheerleading, and defense of Carlson's brainless interview. I'm old enough to remember when Republicans *hated* Russia (a/k/a the USSR) because of its left-wing authoritarianism (and, of course, it was a darling of the left). Now that Putin practices *their* sort of authoritarianism, the right is just as squooshy-wooshy for Putain as the left is for Hamassholes.

I love it when some idiot writes how wonderful Biden is and how great a job he’s doing. Facts, he’s a delusional old man with no sense of anything going on around him. Fact, go to the grocery store ass hole and see how great he’s doing on the economy. Fact, watch all the illegals stream across the border and get more benefits than people paying taxes. I’m sick and tired of some prick telling me something different than I see with my own eyes.

I recommend everyone read the book, “Bloodlands: Europe between Hitler and Stalin” by Timothy Snyder. It was from 2010 but it gives a detailed account of that history and the monstrosity that was the Soviet Union and the suffering endured by Ukrainians under Stalin, and still are under Putin. Putin is a modern day Stalin. The death count under him is in the millions. Even then the US pandered to Stalin as they saw him as the lesser evil to Hitler. Yet the two were once allies. They were two sides of the same coin. Putin will not stop at Ukraine. He will move further and further into Europe. He has grande illusions of rebuilding his empire.

The GOP followers are pandering to Putin in much the same way because they see liberals or the Democrats as the bigger evil. This is false propaganda and dangerous to democratic nations in Europe. There is room for disagreements in democracies but aligning with an authoritarian whether it be Putin or a wanna be authoritarian Trump is a dangerous and self defeating bargain. I get that many here don’t lean progressive or Democrats. But your fellow Americans are not your enemies…Putin is.

If Europe falls so does the US.

PS- how are all the Putin fans feeling now after news reports of Nalvany’s death? Is Putin really a reliable man to teach us his whitewashed history? Tucker Carlson will go down in history as a fool and an apologist to Putin’s dangerous ideology.

Wake up GOP America.

I agred it is not about age. I am not a Sanders fan but he seems pretty sharp. OTOH it does not matter how many years of experience and wisdom you have if you cannot recall it.

Interviewing Putin constitutes pandering to Putin? I politely disagree with that statement.

Perhaps some people are sick and tired of the non-stop wars. Perhaps some folks realize that maybe, just maybe, it is not such a good idea to admit Ukraine (which is a stone-throw away from Moscow) into NATO (an organization founded to be Russia’s deterrent and natural enemy). Image the sentiment of Americans if Russia or China would create a global alliance to counter US interests and set up shop in Canada or Mexico?

I am not against NATO as this organization is relevant and necessary. I do not condone the actions of Putin or Russia in any way. But let’s not pretend that our own foreign policy did not have anything to do with this disaster unfolding in the Ukraine.

Soooo….I gotta ask: any moderate democrats out there who agree with Matt Bennett’s assessment of Biden? Honest question, as I’m genuinely curious.

Looks like TFP is trying to lose it's 'right wingers'. That's what a desire to be successful does, sell out some of the most thinking folks as they revert to the mean.

I generally like reading the Wiseman post. But this one is so intellectually corrupt I’m winding if it was written by a high school stand-in.

Biden’s age - so what. His lack of mental capacity - oh boy. But that is glossed over as an age thing.

Did anyone actually listen to what Carlson said about Moscow and other cities - it was a condemnation of crappy US cities that used to be great but are now being destroyed from within. I believe there is a disease amongst these authors who seem incapable of understanding nuance and facts.

Wondering - not winding; and please forgive me for any other iOS mistakes.

I know this isn't fair............but I couldn't get past the title.....and this coming from something called "The Free Press"......Oliver, it's called journalism............

Your title sucks - "Why Is The American Right Pandering to Putin?"

Go mail in your first of several ballots for Joe Biden.....I don't want to hear what you have to say...

About The Coddling of the American Mind, the trailer makes it look like we will not actually see what the students are being taught, or how it happened; instead we will just hear students talking about being "woken up" from it. What's the point of that? I hope the film digs deeper than that. Also, 2018 seems like a long time ago already... but let's see, hopefully it's better than I expect.

Why is interviewing Putin pandering? I found the interview informing. I found Putin strange and trying to justify entering Ukraine. Also I could unseat his worry about NATO accepting Ukraine as we said we would not! So don’t you have an open mind. Obama said he would talk to all sides??? So why should Putin not be interviewed?? Just wondering what you are worried about. Tucker hold no position in our government, after all.

A lot of commentators, including me, have been judging this article on how much it is supported by evidence and truth. It should instead be evaluated by how well it serves the Democrat narrative. The leading Dems' talking points now are that Trump wants to be a dictator and "democracy hangs in the balance" in this year's election. Savodnik's article is perfect when judged from that perspective.

I want whatever Matt Bennett is drinking/smoking.

“…and he occasionally forgets things.” 😮 I’ve been watching Biden’s decline practically since he took office. There are compilation videos filled with his gaffes, mumblings, incomprehensible words and forgetfulness!

The “bulbs” in your “gaslight” lamp need replacing.
