In the '60's, we were not applauding murderers and terrorists. We protested, leaders were assassinated by the paranoid, and in the case of JFK, by the paranoid within Washington. There were bloodbaths against protesters and students by police. But we stopped the military action in Viet Nam through investigative reporting and whistleblowing by Daniel Ellsberg until Congress listened and decided to stop funding the military action. The military action in Viet Nam ended when the Congress of the great but often foolish U.S.A. said "No more funds"

The hatred of Israel within America did not exist like THIS until Oct 7th when it was given a banner under which to explode.

Psalm: 37:1-18

1 Do not fret yourself because of evildoers; *

do not be jealous of those who do wrong.

2 For they shall soon wither like the grass, *

and like the green grass fade away.

3 Put your trust in the LORD and do good; *

dwell in the land and feed on its riches.

4 Take delight in the LORD, *

and he shall give you your heart's desire.

5 Commit your way to the LORD and put your trust in him, *

and he will bring it to pass.

6 He will make your righteousness as clear as the light *

and your just dealing as the noonday.

7 Be still before the LORD *

and wait patiently for him.

8 Do not fret yourself over the one who prospers, *

the one who succeeds in evil schemes.

9 Refrain from anger, leave rage alone; *

do not fret yourself; it leads only to evil.

10 For evildoers shall be cut off, *

but those who wait upon the LORD shall possess the land.

11 In a little while the wicked shall be no more; *

you shall search out their place, but they will not be there.

12 But the lowly shall possess the land; *

they will delight in abundance of peace.

13 The wicked plot against the righteous *

and gnash at them with their teeth.

14 The Lord laughs at the wicked, *

because he sees that their day will come.

15 The wicked draw their sword and bend their bow to strike down the poor and needy, *

to slaughter those who are upright in their ways.

16 Their sword shall go through their own heart, *

and their bow shall be broken.

17 The little that the righteous has *

is better than great riches of the wicked.

18 For the power of the wicked shall be broken, *

but the LORD upholds the righteous.

A friend once told me he believed the far left was more dangerous to this country than the MAGA far right. I scoffed at him but did not continue the conversation. I now believe he may be correct.

Should we really be concerned about 300 apparent lunitics who met in A basement in Chicago? If one needs to worry about something, worry about the Biden Administration’s whipsawed thinking on Israel’s ability to defend itself against forces larger than most can appreciate. It does crack me up, however, that many of Iran’s rockets failed to fire. Talk about paper tigers.

The Democrats argue that "January 6" justified disenfranchising the Republican Party.

It would be far better to disenfranchise the Democrats over these people.

In late March the same nutjobs were making a scene outside City Hall downtown, with the same threats about the Democratic Convention, the same chant of "Genocide Joe." They made a big show of burning a U.S. flag, and then Alderman Sicho actually stood ON TOP of the ashes to deliver another anti-Israel speech. A couple of days later, Mayor Johnson gave a lame defense of Sicho's free speech rights. It'll be interesting to see how Gov. Prizker responds if these idiots keep escalating. So far he has been noncommital. But during the March nonsense there were unmarked SUVs with MP plates all around the demonstration - pretty sure they were Natl' Guard.

Feckless and shameless Democrats still court the voting currency that these antisemitic traitors market. The world is tilting hard toward the next global war.

It is interesting to me that so many of these protesters choose to cover their faces and bodies to such a degree that they are not recognizable. I live in the SF bay area and there were some protesters shutting down a freeway and the GG bridge yesterday. The protesters yesterday also had faces covered with masks and scarves. This implies to me that they ultimately know what they are doing is wrong and something to be ashamed of. I don't see this when I look at photos of protesters with worthier causes in my view, such as civil rights protesters.

I think they're covered up to avoid being identified on camera. They want all the glory of making a big scene in the streets and none of the hassle of being identified and possibly sanctioned.

Yes, I agree. But folks protesting other things often are "un-apologetic" and very open about it and don't hide their faces or identifying characteristics, e.g. civil rights protesters in the 60s, Vietnam protesters, Iraq war protesters, animal rights/fur/vegan activists, environmental activists...

Well written by Reingold. Thanks

A gathering of people attending to express their rebel/Marxist/anti-war beliefs seems about right. That they have anti-American tropes also seems about right. Fringe gatherings attracting fringe members of other fringe groups also seems right. And that there are a mere 300 also seems about right for a Saturday in Chicago.

Let their voices be heard and then dismissed as quickly.

Imagine in the days / weeks following 9/11 --- imagine these "rallies" or "protests" were held. Imagine someone(s) waving Hamas / Hezbollah flags. Imagine the "Down with America" chants. Would our leaders have stood by and allowed it? Would these people only possibly be arrested while most were allowed to continue? Would our leaders say 'free speech....it's allowed....' ? My thoughts are: No way in H*LL! The complete lack of seriousness about how dangerous this is, is frightening. I continuously see ppl on TV say, "awwww, shucks....it's just dumb ppl who don't know what they're saying....let em be....they don't know what river /what sea.....it's just a bunch of useful idiots. Nothing to see. No need to worry." REALLY?????? So, why do we have laws saying you can't yell "FIRE" in a theater or joke about having a bomb? Why do we have TSA? Why have our leaders grown so darn weak-kneed about realizing there's a very real threat & most Americans don't want to see our country crumble and would appreciate the Natnl Guard along w mass arrests & FBI involvement.

All these brilliant minds should take a leisurely vacation in Iran this summer. They say it's the French Riviera of the Middle East! They also warmly embrace women's rights, homosexuality, and freedom of speech, press, and religion. Book now before the best AirBnB's are taken!

I bet the Democrats had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they KNEW some ideas since 2014 have been absolutely insane. It's really kind of pathetic they didn't speak up and allowed themselves to be co-opted by a bunch of America-hating, Israel-hating communists. Yet, a majority are still trying to placate them. For votes.

"...Hezbollah, who are also a militant group in Lebanon, and the Syrian government are all parts of the arc of resistance.” " I don't know whether to scream or rage or cry or what to even do here. Hizbullah is a CANCER on Lebanon. They have been holding Lebanon hostage for years with their Iranian backed weapons. They're vile.

What is even more infuriating is that these people don't even understand what they are cheering. Try asking some of us who are actually from the region and despise these people because we see the reality of what they are. The khamaneist regime is a brutal backwards despotic bunch of kleptocrats. The Assad regime has so much blood on them they could easily bathe in it. This is who these people are cheering.

I lived in Portland from 1997-2019. I had a lot of co-workers who supported Iran's stick it to the West attitude. All were far-left; most were women. Completely clueless.
