The article by Eli Lake you published about Alvin Bragg's shameful attempt to smear Trump with NO CRIME and NO CASE during a presidential showed an obvious lack of integrity on the part of The Free Press. You also referred readers to another hit piece on Trump by Harry Litman in the LA Times that concludes Trump "has nothing but contempt for the rule of law." This is truly rich when polls show that the majority of Americans believe the Justice system has been weaponized by the DNC and Soros. Now that the indictment has finally been unsealed, perhaps The Free Press can take another shot at nonpartisan journalism. The only crime revealed in the indictment was a state level misdemeanor wherein the statute of limitations expired long ago and the time frame was 2017 when Trump was president - NOT during the campaign as alleged by the indictment. Eli Lake uses misleading and empty language like a novice or hack when he states "Trump's complicity in the events of January 6 is APPARENT and shameful" and "...the DOCUMENTED fraud was perpetrated to conceal a violation of campaign law" and "Trump justifies his own FLOUTING OF RULES because he says the system is rigged against him." The Free Press is better than this.

Unfortunately, it isn’t better than this.
