I used to think Tokyo was high density until reading the numbers on Gaza. Gaza makes Tokyo seem like rural Montana or Wyoming, a couple of places I have traversed by bicycle many times.
So in such a densely packed area, ever wonder at the relative paucity of casualties. The late analysis of the 45,000 casualties, after discounting Hamas fighters, intentional shields, misinformation and Hamas’ own errant artillery, the actual civilian death toll is under 10,000. Yes, it’s a lot, but peanuts compared to 1,000,000 in Ukraine and Russia.
Most of all, go back to the extremely dense population. It could easily be greater by a factor of 10 to 100 were Israel indiscriminate in pursuing its war with the Hamas terrorists. Give Israel all the credit for REDUCING casualties.

Apparently China does not allow the American version of Tik Tock (obviously, I mean even in translation to Chinese) in China. They understand young minds and dopamine (which affects older minds as well) and how it works to affect the transmission of messaging to serve a particular purpose.
Regarding the news about declining math scores in schools - just how long are we going to be told (and believe) that it's about learning-loss from the pandemic? Maybe in the first year or two back-to-school that held some truth, but by now it feels like a way to avoid looking at the actual state of American public education.
Test Scores: It's good to know that American girls are as ignorant as boys. See, DEI works. Everything is brought down to the lowest common denominator.
TikTok: Does it come with a detonator?
Medal of Freedom: Biden likes rewarding TRASH!
NYC: Move to somewhere safer, with a lower cost of living, reasonable (Run by intelligent people) & less congested. It's a big country.
I guess that the four biggest jokes regarding Biden's distribution of Medal of Freedom Awards are : Wintour , Soros , Cheney ( surprised he did not also include her daddy) , Clinton and Bono . I am surprised he did not give one to Jane Fonda !
The anti semitism report regarding Columbia University is devestating !
I contracted the metapneumovirus in the late fall of 2020. And it was nasty. Couldn't sleep for a week because of the coughing and it took me ten weeks to shake the damn thing.
They won't give you a narcotic cough medicine for this ailment, which would allow you to sleep, because fluid would then get trapped in your lungs, resulting in pneumonia. I also lost all hearing in one ear, a side effect in about one-third of all cases. Fortunately, my hearing eventually returned.
My doctor told me one of his other patients who had this bug had to be intubated and almost died. It's called META for a reason.
> “in such a blatant manner” that it made them “feel targeted and unsafe.”
That and $4 will get you a drip coffee at Starbucks. Thing is, if it isn't actually a direct call to violence against a specific person or persons, it's expression protected by the first amendment, no matter how reprehensible. That doesn't mean I think the government should be giving any funding to these schools at all, only that freedom of speech applies to all parties in the US equally and it's unconstitutional for the government to discriminate on the basis of viewpoint.
The liberal position is that the answer to bad speech is more and better speech. We need more people on both sides willing to stand up for the principle of free expression. Thankfully, we have Greg Lukianoff and FIRE pushing for the primacy of this principle over the grievances of any one faction.
And so you think in the unlikely event that a Columbia student ever insulted or harassed a group of transgender students that the Columbia administration would recognize the primacy of the first amendment?
Your confusion is why Americans need to stop using the word "liberal" to describe those who are more accurately labeled "left-wingers" or "progressives".
I'm just going to go out on a limb and suggest that ten minutes out of your life spent learning about America's founding philosophy will better enhance your knowledge and understanding than arguing with a schmoe like me.
That says a lot more about you and the schools than it does about me. Wow. Imagine admitting in public that you taught American history and don't know what "liberalism" is.
Somewhere behind the enraged frailty of Biden exists the overgrown toddlers that are having a hissy fit and tearing up what’s left of the rational fabric of our country: Soros good, Trump bad; Summer of Love good, January 6th bad; Palestinians heroic, Israelis cowardly; Supremes liberal RBG good, Clarence, Brett, Amy in need of assassination due to bias. One of the most hopeful moments of my life was when 10,000,000 “erroneous” voters sat out the 2024 election and Trump won. Wow!
John, best to remember this equation: when a Republican wins by 50,000 votes it is election fraud. When a Democratic wins by 50 votes, it is the will of the people.
Columbia- There are so many things I find abhorrent about institutionalized Jew-hatred (I refuse to use the more polite "antisemitism") at a university in a city with the world's second largest Jewish population. It's almost comical the sponsor of this "exhibit" would be a Greek letter society. To channel Elon Musk, "if irony was lethal..."
TikTok- I don't believe the Supreme Court can ban TikTok for being a vehicle of indoctrination. The issue is did Congress violate the First Amendment by legislating a ban. Probably yes.
Senate- so long as both houses give ultimate deference to seniority in committee assignments and the Fed controls a growing share of the economy, congressional districts/states will always have the incentive to elect incumbents to maximize the possibility of more pork. As in so many things, the solution is to change the incentives by reducing the Fed's share of the economy, i.e., reduce taxes and let states act as intended by the Founders.
Biden- I guess the arms sale to Japan is the kiss on the forehead following the kick in the ass of blocking the US Steel sale.
NYC- another example of an elected official giving the people who voted for her "democracy, good and hard". See Chicago for a similar example.
"The Constitution is not a suicide pact." - Associate Justice Robert Jackson, 1949. Jackson served as Chief U.S. prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials and knew whereof he spoke as regards indoctrination.
Fair point but seems a very slippery slope and crosses the line on the Supreme Court legislating. Not sure how you draw a line, which keeps us from getting Biden's "truth commission" with the crazy lady in charge.
Big Pharma is in our face on a daily basis. You cannot escape their ridiculous advertising. Singing and dancing and happiness. To stave off the attorney at the end of each commercial a list of possible/probable complications including, "if you are allergic to this medication don't take it." Think about that. There is a pill and shot for every illness known to man/woman and all in between......except, the common cold. Way too many over the counter business to introduce a cure for that. The positive impact Big Pharma could have had on today's society.......well, could have been significant. That said, the industry has chosen to overmedicate the populous so that a few can keep their mega yachts afloat. Medication and greed go hand in hand skipping down the road. Semper Fi.
Please make the font bigger in the emails.
Lost what badly.I didn't run for election. I don't even vote POTUS election. Only state/local. So, actually I "won bigly."
Run with that 1.2% Popular vote margin, though.
I'm going to enjoy EVERY second of these next 4 years :)

Covid followed by RSV, H5N1 Avian Flu & HMPV. It/they may be coming to your favorite haunts.
Fauci is licking his chops....

Spot on commentary, Dr. Burka!
Congratulations to Ashley Babbitt for 4 years of sobriety.
Guess what, you lost, badly, like really smashed bad.
Really? A 1% popular vote win, 2 house seats and 3 Senate seats is "smashed bad?" Lol. Ok.
I didn't run for office, so - lost nothing.
Don't vote for POTUS, only state and local, so - lost nothing.
I'm just going to sit back and enjoy every minute of these next 4 years :)
they your a mindless troll who dropped the Babbitt comment since your a loser who thinks its funny.
That was a great joke!
I took it from another situation where MAGAs were making the same joke about someone else.
Just re-worked it. It's funny!!
"Wokeness" had destroyed comedy!
Enjoy your "landslide." I'm just sitting back and getting ready for the show. :)
You are a horrible person
What? It's a funny joke. I heard it used for another instance/incident.
You must be "woke."
It's not funny. Whoever said it was not sympathetic to Ashlii Babbitt and likely hated her
Aww....c'mon, I just reworked a very popular MAGA George Floyd joke.
It's funny!!!

No, because they're unprincipled. The answer to that isn't to be unprincipled in response.
"The liberal position is that the answer to bad speech is more and better speech."
This is a joke?

Happy to discuss ideas with you but I don't need reading assignments.

Taught American history at the college level for many years so happy to discuss ideas but please enlighten me don't give me reading assignments.

Columbia is disgusting; the question for Jews working, studying, and/or supporting the fetid hallways - fight the antisemitism or leave???
LEAVE and others should stop applying !
I just wonder what the Jews there think? They’re on the front line.
