I'll reassess when they give up their slave-made iPhones and transfer to colleges that don't subsidize the genocidal apartheid state. In its fight with medieval theocracy.

It's rich that they're fighting occupation ... by occupying their school's administrative offices.

Yes, Zionist agitators who slip into a sit-in and try to get a "Kill the Jews" chant started so Nellie, Oliver et al. can lie about it, should definitely be kept out.

Nice of Oliver to provide quotes that a perfect example of free speech, because if Oliver and TFP are one thing, it's not being hypocrites.

I am a big fan of the Free Press and a long time listener of the Honestly podcast. And I have enormous respect for the Jewish tradition and its contribution to our country and the Western world! I’m also a faithful Catholic. I would love to see a more thoughtful and serious approach to your coverage of all things Catholic and/or Christian. It seems as though a few pot shots are being taken in your coverage.

"Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged Hamas to accept what he calls an “extraordinarily generous” truce offer from Israel. ...the only thing standing between the people of Gaza and a cease-fire is Hamas,” he said." Really? Huh. I didn't know....

"2 p.m. deadline set by Columbia administrators for protesters to clear out their encampment or face suspension came and went Monday afternoon," This is not original: treat criminals and kids this way and this is what you get. Follow Florida Gators' example and 'protesters' are gone. STOP VOTING FOR DIMS & RINOS

CO2 Is, in fact, plant food. Oxygen and food are the result. Thanks for sharing this. Most people that have no idea how plants grow probably don't remember this from their high school science class. It's a good reminder.

> Why isn’t Biden more popular? Mickey Kaus has an original, if ominous, answer: his inability to explain the “Sweet Hereafter,” Kaus’s term for our strange status quo in which “the old rules are dead or dying, but we’re still here” waiting for “something to heave into view that will give us structure and direction.”

==============

This is kind of saying the quiet part out loud. We went from a world where persecuting political opponents was considered a bit of a bad thing, t one in which it's normal, including lawyers of opposition parties, regular people praying near abortion clinics, etc.

Similarly, we went from a world (~15 years ago), where we were going out of our way not to consider skin color/gender/sexuality and to only consider merit when hiring, doing admissions, etc, to one ion which those things are the MOST important factors (look up medical school admissions by MCAT and race; the difference is insane. It's something like 81% of black applicants with an MCAT of 25 are accepted, while only 7% of white applicants, and 5% of Asian applicants).

On the economic front, we're transitioning more slowly, but the middle class (and therefore American Dream) is shrinking year over year, and we're turning back towards a feudal-ish society with a few haves and a lot of have-nots waiting on and serving the haves.

These changes - and many others during our long slide into wherever we're going - are not participated by Biden. They were going on during Obama's presidency, and a lot of them are being precipitated by private companies, well-funded/connect NGOs, university systems, or large funds like BlackRock. But Biden is where the majority are finally noticing, while the news can't blame Trump for all of it (while they try). So people turn their frustration and anger to the biggest and most obvious person.

If we keep this up in a few years we'll be in the Stone Age again.

The middle class is getting absolutely crushed in today’s world. Entertainment is almost out of reach entirely for most families, and this is just getting worse. Ticket and food costs to go to events is hardly even an option anymore, and even when they (we) can somehow afford it, the experience is terrible because little care goes into production anymore. Costs are being cut at every corner to increase margin, and prices keep going up. Now we are stuck paying higher prices for worse products. Just look at the longevity of household appliances or vehicles. Beyond any of the issues in the upcoming election, the costs of living and skyrocketing prices are the most concerning to middle class US citizens, which is the dominant demographic in the country.

Words matter here. The aggression of Hamas is not justified, but it is certainly explainable and understandable. If you consider the history only from 1947 on, Israel had a number of opportunities to settle Palestinians from Gaza throughout Israeli settlements, not to mention relocating them in Jordan., the designated Palestinian homeland. Ariel Sharon began a program like that, but its generalization was prevented by internal Israeli politics. Instead, Israel isolated Gaza much like, forgive the comparison, a concentration camp. Israel congratulated themselves, even recently, for giving Israeli jobs to 10,000 Gazan residents, while the remaining 2.2 million remained imprisoned in poverty. Is that Israel's fault? Oh no, Hamas has impoverished Palestinians more than Israelis have, but Israel has missed many opportunities to prevent this ongoing and escalating conflict. And, finally, do I see an alternative to the complete leveling of Gaza in order to eliminate Hamas? No, I don't. So much history, so many blown opportunities on both sides, so much animus. Ariel Sharon, former Prime Minister of Israel who was raised among Palestinians, said there was plenty of blame to go around for all.
