FP Cupid: Looking for Love?

Welcome to Free Press Cupid, The FP’s old-school matchmaking service for the young at heart, the old souls, the hopeless romantics, the hopeful curmudgeons, and everyone in between. We’ve already arranged one Free Press marriage via FP Cupid—read about their story, and tips for how to get the most out of your ad, here—and we’re eager to mint some more FP couples.

Below, find personal ads from singles near and far. If you like what you read and think you might be a match, reach out using the email provided. If you’d like to submit your own ad, write one up and send it to Cupid@TheFP.com. Remember: Keep it short, around 200 words, and be sure to include a little bit about yourself, including where you live, what you’re looking for in a partner, and the best email to use to get in touch with you. We post just a handful of ads a week, so if you don’t see yours right away, keep trying!

One more thing: FP Cupid is a service we offer to our paid subscribers. If you think that this community might be where you’ll find your special someone, subscribe, and then peruse the personal ads behind the paywall. Even if you don’t find a match right away, you’ll have access to all of our articles, the comments section, and early access to tickets to our events while you wait for your soulmate to show up. If you’re not a part of our community yet, sign up here:

Lots of love,

Blaine, 30, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I’m originally from Pittsburgh, and I now happily call Philadelphia home. I’m an ambitious woman and driven at work. Otherwise I’m probably playing tennis, watching sports, or spending time with friends and family. I’m a foodie at heart—always on the hunt for the best hidden gems. If you’re the type who loves sharing plates and debating the best appetizer on the menu, we are guaranteed a good time.

When winter hits, you’ll find me skiing a mountain or migrating to South Florida. While these places aren’t similar, they’re both outside, which is my favorite place to be. Looking for a man who is kind, curious, and ready to explore the city (and maybe the slopes or courts) together. Bonus points if you love dogs—I will absolutely stop mid-sentence to say hi to one. If that’s you, send me a message at DinkinB@gmail.com.

Jim, 82, Vermont

I’m 82 but still kicking. . . though not very high! I live in central Vermont, and wouldn’t be anywhere else. I lost my wife of 50 years to Alzheimer’s in 2020.

I’m a graphic artist working on my MFA. I like 1960s psychedelic-style posters, Star Trek, and have a spiritual leaning. Oh, and I love music. My favorite album is Abbey Road. Next to that I love Crosby, Stills and Nash. Politically, I am very left—Bernie Sanders is a little too conservative for me. Other than that, I’m pretty flexible. If that works for you, email me at Jemd@gmavt.net.
